2009 Nav ...add phonebook entry?

What am I missing? I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add a phonebook entry manually? I have an iphone 3g with 3.0.0, and have tried downloading phonebook with no luck, all I get is a single entry for 'voicemail'. Is there no way to insert entries into the phone book other then thru the download function?

No speed dial touch screen buttons either?

If the 2009 is anything like the 2008, there is no address book sync.

You need to manual/verbally enter each contact's home, office, mobile # into the system. RTM

I just picked up a CX-9 today. I found the ability to import a phonebook, and tried with my iphone. It created the voicemail entry, and it made it through the A's (at least that is all that shows up after it fails). After that, one time it said it failed, and the other time it just hung up and didn't do anything for about 5-7 minutes.

I think tomorrow I am going to remove all phones/phonebooks from the system and try to connect the phone again and then add the phonebook.

Most of us don't have that ability in our 07 and 08 models. This must be something new in the 09 models. Phonebook entries must be manually added, one by one.

It really depends on the phone. My Wife's Storm has an issue with importing over 15 entries but by Samsung does all 40 without issue

I deleted the Iphone, re-connected it, and downloaded the phonebook and it worked fine.

My wife's sony phone downloaded the entire phonebook without any problem to our 2009. I believe you still have to say each name manually though to use voice dialing by name, which could be a major PITA. I suppose you'd only do that with the top 10 or so main numbers you call frequently.
