i own a '07 ms3 5-door and i think i'm in the right place. browsing through the threads got me itching to put a CAI or RAM aftermarket. will replacing the stock air intake void my warranty?

Welcome to forums.
first thing first...
if you install an aftermarket intake, it will void the warranty only on that part, and related parts. Lets say for example, they cant void your warranty on suspension because you have an intake you know :) just a quick info. We are protected by a law in those cases :)

Well to clarify a bit it won't void a warranty on anything outright. Sure they won't warranty your aftermarket intake but anything else can still be under warranty. It's only if they determine, which can differ so widely from dealer to dealer and the mood they are in lol, that it has caused a problem on things related to it.

For example, your MAF goes out under warranrty. Sure they can say its caused by the intake but if it was already a malfunctioning part with nothing to do with the CAI being installed then they technically can't just say you aren't covered because you installed something like this... unless of course you install an aftermarket turbo or NOS...then thats a whole different story lol.

Anyone know whether Morrie's in Hopkins, MN is such a dealer?

just make sure that you've got a "mod friendly" dealer.

i called up my local dealer and they said there's going to be no issue with warranty only if i get the mazda CAI (GRMS-8M-L30) and they install it. kinda expensive as the cost is $443 total. :(
