ticking sound while driving, valves?

before mine blew up i had the same tick. but mine ended up being a bad valve guide. Did the EXACT same thing yours seems to be. Then later it had that loud nasty rod knock and POW there she blew!

yea my car sounds nothing like that, like i said earlier it only happens when in gear and only while giving it 1/8th throttle. i can be doing 60 and hear it when giving it a 1/8th throttle, take my foot off the gas while it is still in gear and at the same rpm i had it at with my foot on the gas and it wont make any noise, it is only when air is being introduced into the IM. which makes my think my butterfly plates (vcts) are bad possibly seeing as how i have a CEL for vcst being stuck open.

Holy vagina!! Are u kidding me!? Powerrider and I have identicle issues!! My exhaust is too loud to properly acess the sound correctly, but I tink we are for sure on the same cruise ship my friend.
One night, a few months after my new engine, I found a hemi beside me. The truck was being a dick tease, and the road was a two lane straight way highway damnit - my odds for a line up like this
was meant for any of u MSP owners, I had to rebel. Long story short, 110km/h over the nine zero km MAX sign (first time ever in the MSP and not proud of it), defly not my smartest moment, I was home.
The following nights, I was tired of listening to Lady GaGa (and man she's has a weird hawtness to her), turned off my deck and started listening to the whooooshing of my intake and turbo followed by a turkey gobble....
the dreadful tick tick tick tick could be heard in second gear with about 1/8 of throttle....but only in 5th could u hear nothing. I was very scared and sooooo mad at myself for driving like a horny teen on that
other night on the highway around 3am.

Guess what now? I don't mean to hijack, but a new addition to my question of my ticking is; when I'm in second on full boost, my turbo seems to hick up and I loose all boost (only in 2nd gear does this occur).
I'm freaking out, and some mechanic plans on telling me I tossed a bearing around in my engine, I say efff that and screw anyones pestamistic opinions and thoughts!!!

I want powerrider to discover an easy and cheap fix with the right answer to the problem.
I'm going to take my car in tomorrow to figure ish out. Hope it's a mani leak or gasket leak :)

P.s. Excuse the spelling and crazy spacing, done from the crackberry

About 30secs into it....:wtf:

Ha! They were talking about that on the radio around here a few weeks ago. I thought it was pretty messed up.

Well, i am pretty sure that it is the VICS screws either they are loose or 1 has came out.(and i have a CEL for VICS being stuck open) but that would make sense seeing as how it only happens when i introduce air into the IM. I got the 626 mani last night and will be putting it on early next week. ill let you guys know what i find out.

i did an audio clip today....my crackberry is too smart, it gets rid of noisey sounds, seriously lol. I'm going to try and switch phones with my old Sony and see if it'll pick up the higher frequency tones and noises.....

Anyways, here's my first attempt;

worst videos ever

The valve train and lifters are noisy in the fs-de. An exhaust leak (and even an more free flowing exhaust) makes them sound even more pronounced.

Yes, valves...

My car had the exact same problem. I suspected it had something to do with the valves as well. I replaced the head with a speedcircuit ported head, and the problem was gone. http://www.speedcircuit.net/product...d=196&osCsid=3ba77459a13f3dc0c57c914955d396d1

Not a cheap fix by any means, but my hp gains and no tick was well worth it. Not to be attempted by beginner or even novice mechanics tho, it was a huge pain in the @ss installing it. I would not continue driving it with that tick though, mine got worse over time. I have read about many people having the same issue and they eventually blew up their motor by ignoring it.

open up the hood, and give it gas by pushing on the throttle body cable thing. raise them up high and let it drop down. there will be a knocking sound somewhere thru out the power band once you find it try to keep the rpms in that powerband and listen to where it is coming from, you will know it it is rod bearing as it is loud and sounds like knocking rather than a ticking like it is the valves. although these cars have loud valves (normal from what i know).
