Saw this someplace else and the answers were pretty good so I figured I would get opinions here.

What game can you remember playing that made you think graphics could possibly never get any better.

So far a lot of people have said things like quake, donkey kong country, ff7, ect

So to start it off mine was "pod" back when the pentium had just came out, got a 200mhz with mmr technology that aloud you to play this racing game.

Closely followed by myst and ff7

Ahh Pilot wings for SNES was awesome

but theo ne that I was amazed with the graphics was that unicycle game for SNES. man i cant think of it.

then Madden 2002 for PS2 got me into video games. and jsut been watching it grow ever since.

Dude.. Uniracers was my favorite game on SNES.. That game was an unreal amount of fun.

I remember being blown off the map by myst, even though I had no idea what was going on in that game.

Donkey Kong Country was awesome too.

I do say, the "wow" moment for me came the first time I saw MarioKart 64. I thought it couldn't get better than that.

The first Gran Turismo. IMO, it set the benchmark for every racing game that followed it. The graphics were awesome, the physics were pretty good, and the tracks were great too. Being a harsh critic for racing games, I thought it was the best ever.

MOHAA for PC back in the day (early 2000s lol)

doom when i was a kid

and i had a game called F16 fighter or something like that on one of those big ass floppys. i thought that game was the peak of technology when i was a kid.

Forsaken was the first to make me go "wow" and suck up lots of my time. I bought one of the first ATI Rage 3D graphics cards the same day and ended up with a kink in my neck from trying to look around corners while flying through tunnels.

I was huge into Mortal Kombat Mega Man, and Donkey Kong. Then when N64 came out - Mario 64 blew my mind!!! Mario Kart and Goldeneye were also intense. Playstation was awesome, but I never owned anything like that until PS2's came out. But I do remember when Resident Evil first came out, and playing that at my friends house while spending the night... it was hard to sleep for a solid month.

ohh yeah well like I sort of said the PS2 did wonders for me. Gran Turismo 3 did me in for the PS forever. its one of the reasons i went with the PS over the xbox. actually the biggest reason. I did love playing Gran turismo 1 and 2 but wasnt into video games at that point. but did play it though. I think its what made me get GT3

I sucked ass at unicycles

ohh another game that blew my mind was Grand Theft Auto 2. yeah not so much graphics wise but game play. I was amazed at how you can go on your own and what not. and then GTA3 was amazing and brought it to a whole new level.

man i want to go home and play

I was oddly good at Uniracers. I had (and still have) the original grand theft autos. I didn't play any versions between those and GTA3. When I saw GTA3, I did have a wow moment. My folks got it for me on the PS2, and I couldn't believe how a goofy 8 bit game turned into a crazy new destruction filled city.

Wing Commander 3 and Descent both blew me away. I could name more, but those two come to mind quickly.

Final Fantasy 7 really set the bar for me too. One of the best RPGs to date. Not sure how many times I've played through it, lol. I'm actually in the middle of it right now too, lol. On my first visit through Gold Saucer right now.

Ohh man descent...I remember that game I could sit for hours on end playing that.

The memories! I remember playing both of those! But yeah, I remember playing descent and thinking "wow, I can like move around in any direction!"

As far as graphics, I remember playing another flight sim "a-10 cuba!" or well, a demo of it and thinking it was as slick as they could get. I still regret I never bought that game.

A bit OT, but I remember thinking the game-play of "Tie fighter" was pretty much perfect for it's genre; and I'm surprised that I've yet to play a game that makes me think differently.

Not really a game that blew me away graphics wise, but Bomberman was the most addicting game ever!!! I've gone back numerous times to play it, and even downloaded it on PSN. Best game to play with a bunch of friends!
