Thanks Distinct. If you want to drop it like that, buy Eibach Pro-Kit. This what i have for the moment and i love it, wouldnt trade them for anything else.

PS: This is a very easy photoshop, i can do way much better and tougher than this :D:D:D

In the original post there is a pic of a Red 5 running RX-7 rims (16x8-50mm offset) with 205-55-16. Does anyone know if I can just throw these on as is, or is there a special setup? I know I have to switch the TPMS.

Thinking about doing this on our 5. Just put a brand new set of Kumho Ecsta ASX and up-sized them to try and get a smoother ride, but the wife still complains they are still not smooth enough...she is the primary driver of our 5.

It's not my 5, just posting specs of the wheels. Atleast that's how it started, then it turned into posting more pics of what he's done to it. So that being said, I have another one that some will love and others will hate. I love it.

MRR HR4
20x8 +45
215/30/20
5mm spacer in the rear

I was cetain I wanted to get 20's...the ones I was looking at were 20 x 8.5 with a 45mm offset....now I'm kinda scared to spend the money and then get tire rubbing....but I see he's got wheel spacers...about how much is a 5mm spacer...The RX-8 wheels dont rub at all...maybe I'll just get the 225/40 tires so my speedo isnt off(argh) I really wanted them(sadbanana)

I tried putting a custom laser cut 6mm aluminum spacer on my rear wheels but decided not to push through with it. I already got after market wheels on it, ADR sokudo10 17x8 +48 and has only about a little over 1/2 inch of usable thread that goes to the wheel nuts. using the spacers will definitely reduce the remaining usable threads.

Maybe if I change the studs to longer ones...

Since the notion of not being sure is killing me...I ordered one wheel(no tire) to try it on and see what my clearance is and if I see that it wont work I'll return the wheel and pay the restocking fee and I'll be at peace with myself and I wont have paid the $1500 to get them to regret it...I'm ok with losing up to $100 to be sure instead of $1500 and selling the wheels I like and know dont rub and have plenty of clearance. They just look small to me...I had 22" on my Rodeo...I guess that would probably be my problem. Here is the wheel I'm looking at.

I did the same thing with Tirerack and ordered one Moda R6 19x8 +45 back in 2006 to test fit it on my Mazda6. I knew it would stick out a bit, but it was more than I wanted. I would've had to roll and pull the fenders. So I test fitted it, didn't like the outcome, sent it back, paid restocking fee, received my refund all in a period of two weeks.

I don't remember how much the wheel or restocking fee was, they just took the fee out of the refund they owed me and charged it back to my card. I was happy with that. I'm glad I didn't do it because I traded in the car for a Mazda5, and that fitment definitely wouldn't have gone on the 5.

I actually looked into getting that particular wheel for the 5. It's a nice looking wheel. A classic. I just don't like the screws at the tips of the spokes.

I just like the fact its a big silver wheel....I'm not a fan of chrome at all. We'll see they shipped it out and it will be here on the 4th of August. If the 20 doesnt fit I might just replace the RX-8 with the 18's....I like the wheels that much. I hope the 20's fit(nailbyt)

What width and offset did you go with? I think 20 is a bit much for the Mazda5 and 19 should be the largest anyone should go with. But I hope you get the desired outcome you're looking for.

Its funny you say the tire rack because that is where I'm getting it from...they are 20 x 8.5 with a 45mm offset...I just need to see with my own eyes to believe it...I dont like to take someones word that never tried it but wants to be a nay sayer. We'll see. Hey I wanted to thank you for all the 5's you've posted with different size wheels and looks...Awesome to see them hooked up. Good Finds..and keep em coming.

I understand what you mean when taking someone else word about something without trying it yourself, I've been there plenty of times. I might have never done that fitment before, but I've done enough research and looking at other peoples trial and error to know it won't fit. 20x8 with that offset is pushing it, but 8.5 is a definite no go without them sticking way out or seriously modding the fenders. I don't claim to know it all, but I'm pretty sure about this one.

Good luck and please post pics of your experience so that the forum can benefit by using them for reference. Thanks.

No doubt will do!

ok seriously though who here has tested ultra agressive or even slightly agressive??

18x8.5 +29et front 18x9 +30R.. with 225/45/18 tires.. im even thinking 215 to stretch nicely in the rear (have a 9.5 on a 225/35 right now lol...

its either that or 18x8 30+ and 18x9 36+

ill be doing test fitting soon enough but i wondered who has even attempted wider than 8.5 wheels.. they said it couldnt be done on my camry but they fit it!!!!

Ok....I got the wheel today with out the tire and I tried it.....I only tried it on the front because I had a feeling it would be flush out back but would stick out in the front...well my fear was realized...only wish I would have had a tire on to sit it down to see exactly where it sat after it was down all the way. Anyways here are the pics(stooges)
