Yeah what happened? Getting the Protege Garage Kit? I am thinking it as well.

Yeah I was talking about the Devens Autocross and its Saturday, the 18th.

yea def buying the pg kit. gotta wait for payment from this other kit for my fp internals and then im sending payment.

zimmer: my car was parked on a hill and the ebrake didnt hold its ground...i was in and out of the house and decided it didnt need to be put into gear and lucky me....it rolled down the hill into my friends car. busted the rear tail lense, crunched the bumper andbent the fender. no other damage than exterior but still sucked. i had a few paint chips on the back fender that annoyed the hell out of me and guess what? GONE! lol. some luck out of it i guess. cost 1700, but only 560 for me with the rental car. still sucks. my insurance will go up 4 points because of the amount of damage between the two vehicles. that like 600 extra a year. im going to try to appeal it and get them to reverse the surcharge based on a faulty ebrake or something. i guess i still havent figured out a completly legit story yet.

what are the thoughts on a FMIC for a daily driver. I had always thought of the top mount I drive so much ... highways ... new england winters based on the condition of my front bumper and hood I suspect the FMIC will be destroyed.

Oh no, I am so sorry I know how you feel. My grandfather just passed away in May and my grandmother is grieving. My other grandmother has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is going to be starting treatment soon. It sucks because there is nothing you can do sometimes but stay positively.

Most radiators will survive 100K miles of new England weather so I don't see why a FMIC would be different. With that said however, do you really need the extra power every day, and are you willing to sacrifice some potential unreliability down the road? ...assuming you use the FMIC to its fullest by upping the boost.

Well its not just about using the power to the fullest, the top mount gets heat soaked. So if you do anything more than just cruise around with it then its a benefit to be able to use the boost for longer without heat soak. About an hour after I autocrossed on Sunday, the boosted temps were in the 160s... I wish I was able to see what they were during the event but can't have the Dashhawk out to get knocked around.

i figured with the front mount the car will perform better. even though this turbo is small this car has proven good things with an upgraded IC. i would go with another top mount but for 350-400 dollars i cant see why i wouldnt go for the front mount. plus on top of it all....front mounts look saaaweeeeeet. lol. i think itll be fine here in NE. the suspension is stock and i never tailgate....i actually drop super far back to avoid rock kick up. either way, im excited.

btw i just painted my fron lip black....ill get a pic up in a few.

Sorry to hear Josh. I just have my grandfather left now...and I'm a lot younger...your daughter should feel lucky she got to know her great-grandparents.

Another note...after replaced basically the entire ignition system...car is running. We'll see for how long before I take her on any road trips though.

Total list of stuff I did:
- MSD Blaster 3 igniton coil
- GM HEI ignition module
- coolant temp sensor
- front valve cover gasket
- powdercoated front valve cover
- NGK V-power spark plugs
- new wireset
- mass air flow sensor
- distributor
- cap & rotor

There might be more...iunno.

Gonna give her a week or so, see how it is...the rally is the weekend after next...eek.

So basically...I installed an external coil/ignitor...somehow effed up my MAF reinstalling my intake...and the cam sensor in the disty died yesterday. Luckily the disty is free...and should fail a lot less often since I have the MSD ignition.

Right...carry on.

get a better camera ;)

looks good though. Can't wait to install my lip.

i have one decent digital cameran and one sick digital camera but its easier to email through my phone and post. sorry. lol.

i was thinking of painting the red lines that circle the fogs lights....but im not sure how that would look....any takers?
