Got me a FC

the true dual does seem badass, i think stock size works well since each rotary has its own exhaust and being bigger could just end up killing all low end, but the cost is just insane for me right now.

but thanks for all the info guys. so any catback will work as long as i go with RB header and presilencer or CS header and race pipe. Right?

also if i went with the race pipe could i just always have the ports open by doing some sort of modification or would that not be a good idea?
LOL, each rotor? Yep, it looks like you've got it right with the exhausts. I just don't like how the Racing Beat is 2". The stock system is 2" - I mean they could have bumped the diameter up to like 2.25" or something, I think that might be a better compromise, especially for those who plan to port in the future (like me!). You can leave the 6PI open but you will loose low end. The system is kind of similar to the VICS on the Protege (at least in it's function). They stay closed to keep intake velocity up and maintain power at lower engine speeds and they open at higher speeds to allow more air to flow. The problem you're running into now is one of the main reasons I wanted to go with a S5 (that and the power increase:))

but i didnt plan on buying this car at all, it def. a spur of the moment thing, so i wasnt able to be picky about an S4 or S5.

i think im going to go with corksport header and racepipe and maybe there catback, i would like to keep the duals so i might go custom.
 
They have been working on a 60 mm exhaust and race pipe. Perhaps that will be better for sound. I'll admit I like the dual exhaust look better but performance is better with the single. If CS releases the 60 mm exhaust I'll probably go with that. It's too bad it doesn't have the awesome JDM bend like the Apexi N1 and GT (and unforunately those are like 3").

Yeah I will probably put my 80mm up forsale and pick up the 60mm for noise purposes.

And by jdm bend I assume the angled muffler? Corksport has that too.

I was being mostly sarcastic, but yeah, the angled look. I didn't think the CS exhaust had that, at least it didn't look like it from you pictures?
 
Yeah guess I don't have any good pics of it. It doesn't have the super mega jdm bend but its definatly not straight. If you follow the pipe straigh back in this pic it goes straight into the back of the muffler

I think the smaller diameter pipe version should be more mellow for volume compared with the current setup on non turbo Rx7s.

Our mufflers do sit at a bit of an angle at the back of the FC.

did my first mod to the car a few days ago haha,

they didnt go down so instead of trying to fix it i just gave it the lazy eye.

This is exactly the look im thinking of going, similar wheels, same body kit, TII hood, no spoiler, but flat white. Im referring to the red BTW

So if any body can PS this to be flat white with flat blacks rims and accents that would be sweet

That's the bn sports kit...that's the kit I like a lot as well. Only problem is to me at least that rear bumper looks like ass.
 
I was going to say it was the GP Sports kit with some open headlight conversion. Eh, I'm not really a fan of that kit - it looks too "OMG JDM" for me with the huge flare at the bottom. I think the RX-7 is like the MP3/P5/MSP where the stock body looks best and the addition of a lip is usually enough. At least the wheels and tires are properly fitted though - that is something rare! With the exception of the wheel/tire fitment the black one in the back looks pretty good (from that angle).
 
i like the red one. althought the rear end might change my mind if its that hideous. pics of rear?
 
ill have to dig up some pics of the rear.

usually im not a fan of bodykits, but i think there a few kits for the FC that are pretty simple clean.
 
Trade me rear bumper covers and ill give that rear stick piece. I wanna get rid of the kit
