I Know This Has Been Answeredbefore But What It The Plug Gap On The Ngk Plugs Thanx

Do you know what they are, or what they should be?

The "in the box" NGK Iridium IX one step colder plugs (heat range 7) are gapped .044 inches.

This is too large. They were designed to fit several different applications and car models.

Proper gap for our engine on stock tune is .028-.032 inches. Mine are set at .030.

Some suggest going as low as .026 inches if you have a downpipe or a custom tune with higher boost. I'm at stock boost, but do have a catless dp/rp and mine seem to work best at .030 inches.

If your not looking for one step colder plugs LTR7IX-11 then you could get the NGK (ILTR6A-8G) which is the OEM replacement gapped at .032...
If you need a one step colder plug get the Denso Iridium ITV22 they come pre-gapped at .028 out of the box.

Why? Just so you do not have to regap them? Every plug that goes into an engine should be checked for gap. You'd be surprised at the variations from what they are supposed to be. They are not hard to regap. The iridium NGK's are avaliable almost everywhere at local auto parts store and are usually WAY cheaper than the Denso's. Just one opinion.

I didn't say don't check them! I said they come pre-gapped at .028. I bought these plugs and CHECKED them, YES they were @.028. Plus they're good plugs. FYI the NGK's aren't available every where, maybe they are in your neighborhood but I can't find anyone who has them on the shelf. All of my local auto stores said they could order them. As far as cheaper the NGK is 12.06/per plug the Denso is $11.99/per plug. You can find some places charging more but @ http://www.sparkplugs.com/default.asp pretty much the same pricing. NGK and Denso are good plugs to go with...not trying to argue just not sure what your point is. Some of what your saying isn't exactly 100% right. I agree with what ever you get check the gap, most of us car enthusiast's know this... (ughdance)

Gee, NAPA, Advance Auto Parts and O'Reilly have NGK Iridium IX plugs at $6.99 each. Got mine from O'Reily. Walked in, had them verify the number: LTR7IX-11, ordered, delivered from their warehouse and picked them up the next day. Guys are paying WAY TOO MUCH for plugs.

Anyway, I think the OP has the info he's looking for. Not into arguing over something this insignificant.... By the way we don't have O'Reilly here in the west. Location does have something to do with cost and availability...thanks for the hot tips.(bolt)
