i am looking to get the mazda cbe for my speed. Ive seen the video that is posted in the "how to" section (http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123682136) the exhaust sounds great, but can anyone tell me how much louder the mazda cbe is compaired to stock? At first I was looking into getting the Cobb cbe, but after emailing them I found out it is only a tiny bit louder than stock. I am looking for something with a bit more volume and has the muffler in the middle of the pipe so you cant see a fat cylinder hanging below the bumper.

That sounds pretty nice! how much louder is it than stock? Also, how much louder was it inside the car?

It's louder but not too loud. There's very little drone on the highway as well. I wasn't looking for "LOUD." I've been sited for too loud, even though I passed the dB test (95dB limit) here in California, it was loud enough for the local cops to pull me over. Personally I think the Corksport CBE is one of the nicest sounding exhausts out there...
If your only looking for sound save some money and get the resonators replaced with straight pipe and maybe the muffler too.

The CS CBE is one of the less expensive ones out there and well worth the $$$. It's not all about HP numbers...This is a quality exhaust and I got a nice deal at Protege Garage. They're might not be a lot of gains but there is an improvement over stock, check out the dyno numbers, (19whp & 5wtq) increase over stock. You can argue this if you want but those are the posted numbers for this unit.

That speed 3 was their own project car and probably had the CS downpipe and racepipe also. Im sorry but your not going to get 19 whp from just an aftermarket cat-back with the stock downpipe and midpipe.

I really don't care about the dyno numbers, I'm not hung upon on them like some are. It looks better than stock, sounds better than stock and performs at least as well as OEM if not better. They ran the dyno numbers so there must be something to them. Someone didn't just pull that number out of their ass...If the car had DP/RP it would be making more than 19whp/5wtq or else somethings wrong.
