Mods on the cheap

Here's a mod on the cheap: any stickers or emblems that falsely state you have what you don't aka turbo stickers/emblems or mazdaspeed emblem (like me!) The stickers or emblems add 5 hp per unit of decoration.

fail.....(doughpoke

Let's see..... There's the ebay intake, and the MX6 strut bar is on it's way. I also painted most of the silver interior bits. I got tired of it after nearly 6 years.

I, um, know a guy that made a PVC intake for his car with an Autozone filter... It may have cost 30 bucks including the clamps and reducers and pipes...

Rumor has it he JB welded the PVC reducer to the MAF for a permanent seal. he was able to get 40MPG in his 95 protege though on a long roadtrip, so that makes it awesome... right?

ALRIGHT IT WAS ME I DID IT GHETTO I KNOW GEEZ LEAVE ME ALONE :)

It sounded mean too. I made a better version of the PVC intake for my P5, but alas, FI will be eliminating that. And FI is not a cheap mod.

I won't! I picked up Boostd's kit. The only thing that MIGHT be ghetto rigged is the Oil Pan tap. I might JB weld the fitting in after I tap it if i can't find a muffler shop to do it for a reasonable price.

does he make the other style? the one thats a little longer and curves down the headlight

He'll probably make them anyway you want. Just send him a pic. He has a P5 too so he'll know how to shape em. Mine have been on for sometime now and still look new. Oh and it's "fishdonotbounce" I misspelled it earlier. Just pm him.

gutting your cats?
what does that mean?

removing/destroying the part or the catalytic converter that converts/restricts ariflow. Not recommended unless destroying your cat, failing emissions, and being stupid to the environment is worth it to you for MAYBE 1 horse.

Ok I modded the stock air intake:
cutout the area in front of the "snorkel" $0
K&N filter $30 something
taped the holes under the snorkel $0
reset the ecu and drove hard up and down the freeway and on long country roads.

Overall: VERY Happy with this mod!! Can really feel the difference!!

The LED and strobe lights look interesting. Link?

No, they're normal, but the little black things are keeping the car better looking than exposing the cancer at the lip of the hood. Gotta save for a new hood

That will not be a mod on the cheap

Tylor

Why don't you try making a hood out of fiberglass?

Seems like it would work in theory... Just don't sit on it or it will probably crack.

Use your current hood as a mold, what do you think of the idea?

What does resetting the ecu and driving hard do ?
