thought it was interesting....the MS3 is cheaper to insure than most others sports cars in our category ie chevy cobalt ss, honda s2000, evo, 350z, vw r32....(cool)

Odd that they didn't list the Civic Si in there. My premium (every 6 months) went from $1200 to $920 when I traded it in for the Speed.

I can't wait til I turn 25, lol. I'm 22 and pay $192 a month ($1154/6 months) for just me with my 2001 MP3. But on the upside, my last 2 points drops off my license in July, so a year after that my insurance will reflect 0 points.

I have progressive and their insurance doesn't differ between the MS3 or reg Mazda 3, it's nice. I too looked at an Si before the MS3 and insurance was indeed higher, but the demographic explains it.

Civics in general are also supposed to have higher insurance rates due to higher rates of theft. At least thats what I've been told by a couple people who work for Geico.

The average age of drivers is a big factor in insurance cost.

Actually thats really the cheapest you can get near me. i have alot of coverage, minimum coverage would have been around 1200/ 6 months. On the plus side its a ton cheaper than Si's STis & Evo's

my insurance company lists it as a 3. think it will stay that way until we start wrecking more of these and the light goes on.
