With Pontiac's death official, we decided it was only appropriate to take a look back to find the ten greatest vehicles that defined the brand's performance. As you will see and undoubtedly already know, there was a time when Pontiac really did build excitement.

First, some history: Pontiac was first launched in 1926 as a companion to the Oakland brand, which was purchased by General Motors way back in 1909. In 1949, Pontiac introduced a brand new model that was intended to usher in a new sporty flair to the automaker's stately line of automobiles. Though the new model was fairly successful, it was held back by the long-running straight-eight engine that had been used since the early 1930s. That was all about to change with the introduction of the first model on our Top 10 list.

The 2008 G8 is the first Pontiac that I ever found attractive enough to the point that I would trade my 8 for a V8 G8 if I had a budget for cars like I use to allow myself.

The G8 is just a sexy car!! The lines flow so well and it sets its self apart from many other cars just in styling and engineering. Good bye to a beautiful brand.

A Fiero?
Are you insane?
Did any of those peices of crap not catch on fire?

I assisted on putting out engine fires on two of them.

The 1997 grand am is absent from that list.. I wonder why.

I couldn't keep mine out of the shop.

I still see a bunch of fieros buzzing around in New London County.

Theres a local fiero club around here, most of them have the 3800 or LS1's in them but theres a couple stock ones left. Was surprised to not see the formula 400's on the list.
