7000 is wat he wants but he has had it for sell for a long time going to take 6000cash and see if he will let it go for that. let yall know later today.

Successful??
Looks like a clean and well cared for Ride.
Harder to come by in that condition.
Of couse I'm partial to Yellow.
6K would be a great price.

Well im going to meet him today inbetween 4 and 5 so when i get back from that ill let yall know if i got it or not. I think he will take the cash. He has had it for sell for almost 6 months.

my spec v was for sale for about 6 months...i ended up getting less than 8 grand for it because i got so sick of it that i took it to an auction.

Ok saw the car everything looks and feels good. Will most likely be having a good friend look at the car. He has been a mechanic for alot longer then I have, so e can tell me if its good to go or not. So hopefully all will check out ok and ill picking up the car next weekend. keep yall updated. Thanks for all the help.

would u buy

a lightly modded MSP for 6k with 83k miles?

in very good condition, has intake, and i belive some aftermarket eibach springs.

just lookin for a general point of view, i need a second car right now and cant go much higher than that in price, looks to be a good deal, anything to look for on a test drive?

btw, im obviously familiar with the FS engine (drive a p5).

Make sure to check for a boost controller. I'd bring tools and check the plugs for evidence of detonation from too much boost (shiny silver specs)

Looking to buy a MSP...

Ok sorry but I am a noob when it comes to Mazdas and you guys may find these questions ridiculous, again I apologize in advance.

So I'm looking at getting a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. It has 88k miles and they want $6990 for it. So it's a little under NADA value. How many miles do these cars usually run good until on stock parts? Like can i get 150k easily? Also, what kind of whp is possible on these motors if done properly?

Also, anything I should pay attention to when I look at it? Like common problems that occur?

Thanks guys,
Matt

First one is priced very well so you might wanna check the vin with carfax.

The second one is WAY too expensive, especially since it is completely stock and missing the original racing hart wheels.

Third one is priced a bit high.

Hey guys, first time poster here on the forums, im a bit more active on m****************, and focaljet.com

A few months ago, i rolled my 2000 focus ZX3, and while shopping around, i nearly bought a MSP, unfortunately, while waiting on loan stuff, it was purchased by somebody else. So I ended up with an 05 Mazda 3i. The 3 is a good car, but its just not for me, tons of little qirks here and there just drive me nutz. The sound system is horrid, nothing works unless the key is in the ignition in the on position, and its the car is really heavy for 146hp. All of this can be changed with mods i know, but id rather get a car that has the power im after then try to build this one.. I may eventually Auto-X with it.

Anyhow, im looking at MSPs, my roomate has a MS3, and i love driving it, but I dont need quite that much power. Everything ive seen available has about 60-70k miles on it in the range of 9-10.5k, and im a bit concerned. A few sources have mentioned that the MSP engines are notorious of grenading around that mileage. Im looking to get one, but I want to make sure that thats more myth then fact. I am looking to push it over the 200hp barrier, so i want to make sure the car is solid before i do that.

Ive looked at other cars (WRX, Redline, etc) but the Protege is the most attractive to me, any advice is greatly appreciated.
