Ok so i'm looking to get wheels for my car. And i need a little help or pictures of what some other people have done. I'm going with a 17" wheel but how wide of a wheel could i get and what offset could i get without worrying about scraping or modifying the fenders..i guess it could depend on the wheel i would get too.
what i really want is for it to look flush without having to modify anything.
Thanks

get a 7 inch wheel..i have 17x7 with a 40 offset...and that required just a little bit of fender rolling in the rear.. also thats with a 205/40 tire.. try to get like a 45 or 50 offset if you can

Go 17x7.5, you can run a 215/40/17 tire it''l fill out the well real nice. No offense to the guy above^ but I got 17x7's with lowering springs and mine never ever rub, even hammered around curves, mine aint rolled either.

uhhmmmm....anyone????

ever think you ran more offset....with a 40 offset rim i rubbed...and the only way your gonna get a 7.5 with a 215 tire is if you have 50 or 55 offset...

stick to a 7 dude

so whats the stock at for offset? I got 215/40s on my stockers and i have no problems with them, they never rubed.. they are sticky as s*** too!

I think some have ran the 215/45s with no problem.. or very little rub..

I run 215/45 on the stock Racing Harts, and honestly it depends what tires I have on if I rub. I had Toyo Proxes4 on the car initially and I got a VERY slight rub only when I cut it all the way to the right. Then I switched to Kumho Ecsta ASX a couple years back and had no rubbing issues. And I just switched back to the Proxes4 a month or so ago and again I get a very minor rub When I cut all the way to the right. But literally it's only in the very last inch of the turning radius probably. It's never a problem. It's well worth it tho, those asx's were crap compared to the proxes4's.

I was looking at the Proxes4s when i bought new tires. But i went with the BF GForce KDW`s NT.. I do not regret it at all! but thoes Proxes4s also look mean!

I have 17x7j rims with offset 42 and 205/40/17 Dunlop DZ101 tires. Also, got spacer of 14mm for front wheels and 10mm for rear wheels.

First, Buddy Club has no 32 offset wheel, and plus I use spacer because I have to clear the ap racing calipers I use for front wheel (spacer 14mm)..., then I figure out the front wheel is too much wider than rear wheel. Therefore, I put 10mm spacer.
front wheel 1
front wheel 2

I meant that your total offset would be of 32 mm, at the back, and what, 28 mm in the front.. but only due to your spacers.

Do you mean why I used wider front spacers than rear??
1. the wider spacer for front wheel because i have to clear 4 pistol ap racing calipers.
2. Wider front track will reduce understeer and make the car more stable for fwd cars because when making turn, the weight switches the direction. In chinese, we call that avoid "Push Head", not sure how to call this term in Eng

No, All I was trying to get too is that if you had your front wheels made with a 28 mm offset and 32 mm offset for the rear it would be the exact same set up as you have without the wheel spacers. Granted I know not everyone does custom offsets..

Not sure what the proper turm is in english, but your reason is good.

I think there`s a section in the mazdaspeed or P5 forum that will tell us all we need to know about wheel spacing and what you can and cannot do on our cars. It should help anyone out with a basic set up.. If you`re doing like supergti, running aftermarket breaks and whatnot, then you need to read up on it, measure, and measure, and read.

I'm running stock Racing Harts with brand new rubber, BFG T/A KDW NT's no issues, and I love em. I was running Goodyear Eagle GS-D3's no issues either loved those tires! Both of them were 215/40/17.
