Well Ford does own Mazda. They share a lot of engine designs and chassis designs. But most of the major platform designs like the original Mazda6 platform are thought up by Mazda and Ford just takes them. (Fusion = 6, Edge = Englarged 6 or CX-7, Flex = CX-9)

Our president gave and is giving a LOT of money to GM to help save jobs, then GM is taking the Money and still laying off ALOT of people to try and stay afloat, I think it is not politics it is POOR BUSINESS on both the president and GM's part!

no, no, not at all, it's completely GM's fault for going bankrupt, i'm just curious how the Tax, borrow and spend administration we have atm (just an extension of the last Tax and Spend administration) plans on dealing with the 50000+ newly unemployed people...

Seems like we're racing towards the 1930s and the 10 year long 20% unemployment

Oh well...

I think we should stay away from the politics too but most articles I've read state that the shutdown of Pontiac comes from the pressure washington is putting on GM to strip most of its brands.

As for the G8 going cheap, I would figure it might become a collectors item now and might jump the price up! Vibes and g5's will be given away in cereal boxes and happy meals

Do you think the existing GM dealers (Chevy, buick etc.) would just pick up the service roles? Most dealerships are franchieses so Chevy will have to provide them something other than pontiacs to sell anyway, so they will get chevy, buick, cadillac or gmc
