Hey Everyone

EDIT: Yokohoma YK520 225/40R18 92H

So I just put these tires on my car and I'm having horrible problems getting them aligned. My alignment place told me to take them back and get different ones. These tires are what discount tire recommended for my car plus they had a 60k mile warranty. Are these tires a bad fit for our cars or is there something wrong with my alignment shop? What tires do you recommend if I need to get different ones?

Thanks

i searched your tire, and it says that it only has a 60000 mile for 15-17 inch series excluding 45 series. Besides that, If they're brand new tires a competent alignment shop should have no problem doing an alignment for you.

The tires you bought are all seasons, which would make cornering ability a little less than the stock bridgestone re050a's which are summer tires.

I had YK520s in 15" on my last car, wasnt too fond of them. For all seasons I'm using Pirelli Pzero M&S in 225/40/18. They dont loose too much performance over the stock bridgestones and do fine in the snow, judging by your location I doubt you will have to worry about that much.

I am running that exact tire for my winter set up and love them. I have had ZERO issues with them and I dont think I have even rotated them at all and show no wear on the tires.

Discount tire is who put me in mine as well. LOL...

i am not being a smart ass here, but how would a new tire effect alignment? I could see a shop having an issue balancing them but if you put on a set of Michelins and then a set of Yokohamas, why would the alignment change and why would one be easier to align than the other?

x2

the only thing that I can think of is that the actual SIZE of the tire is causing an issue and not the make/brand/tread pattern/etc of the tire

if that is the case, you need to find a better alignment shop

So it looks like gofast was right. The tires were just balanced incorrectly by discount tire. So basically discount tire screwed up when they first put the tires on and the alignment shop isn't too blame.

Thats not a big surprise that discount tire couldnt balance them correctly. Glad you got it straightened out.
