OEM cams

I know that here is some threads about original cams, but I still didn't find what I was looking for... (stooges)

I have europian 323F (P5 for you), and I know our engines isn't same all the way. But this cam quoestion is little bit unknown to me. I changed timingbelt and wondered cams at same time...

I have FSH9 mark on inlet cam and FSD7 on exhaust. Have I understood correct, that our exhaust cam (FSD7) is same, but inlet (FSH9) is same as FS-ZE?

And if FSD7 is same, what would be better to get for exhaust cam to get more power?

the mazdaspeed as well as the JDM intake cam would be an upgrade for you.. otherwise you could look at a set of aftermarket cams..

Hmm. Okay, I wasn't really thinking same what I wroted..(boom01) What I ment, is if I get "better" inlet cam, what it would be? Could I use my old inlet (FSH9) for exhaust, repinned of course.
Or what if I just get one original inlet cam, repinned it for exhaust..

How will I know wich cam is really JDM or Mazdaspeed? And I wasn't really thinking aftermarket cams, camgears maybe.

I don't think I'm understanding much of anything you're trying to say. "repinned" means nothing to me... but if you got a JDM intake came (and swapped it for your current intake came), or either mazdaspeed cam (and swapped it for the appropriate current cam), they would be an upgrade over what your car currently has in it.

I don't know if the repinning will work. I think we considered it for my motor before but just went ahead and bought cam gears instead.

If you're going for stock, all you really need is the Mazdaspeed Familia Exhaust cam. Should be good for a slight bump, but not really very much if you've already got the intake.

You have two choices in cams beyond Mazda... the Twiggies and the Integrals. Integral Stage I would be a good, very streetable upgrade.

Does it need repinning? Cos' I have heard that in some engines inlet cam to exhaust is straight bolt-on..

I'm not after maximum power, because my engine is basicly original, just a little upgrade for better powerband would be great.

I still don't know how I will know wich cam is JDM/Msp, because my cams (FSH9 & FSD7) are original...

you would need to find and purchase a JDM/MSP cam....

you 2 appear to speak each others' language, so... I'm gonna step out of this one.

I don't want to be difficult, but how will I know is someone is selling JDM or Msp -cams, that they really are what seller says? That they aren't just normal USD-cams..

I have understood (I'm not sure) that if you just bolt inletcam to ex-cam, timing is ******, so you have to repin the cam, so you can get the timing right... I think I have google this thing..

I've heard the same about other cars. We took a look at the intake and exhaust, and no, it's not direct. You'd have to repin, and I'd be wary of doing so without knowing the exact effects. Sorry, better to just buy. But it won't be as big an effect for you as for an American buyer.

This was thing I "wanted" to hear, that they aren't direct fit. So I don't just buy one cam and after that start thinking.

Yeah, I can guess that too, but I'm not reaching for max power, just better power band and "easy horses"?

I have googled and I would say that JDM/FS-ZE intake is same as mines FSH9... One guy from our local club forum has FS-ZE on his 626, he may check his cam signs when summer comes. Then I would know what mark JDM has.. (2thumbs)
