so this weekend i took my car to the dealership and got them to turn off the stupid ding ding. it annoyed the hell out of me when i would take my seat belt off for a sec and scream at me. they charged me 50$ and only took them 15min but so worth it. just thought i would share (:

lol i guess. but it was just when i would take it off for a sec to run back in the house or something. i dont kno why but that was the worst noise in the whole world

there is a TSB somewhere...i'd have to search for it again. they have to change a setting in the PCM, nothign that can be done by the end user.

go faster enough with your windows down and the sound of the wind and exhaust will cover up the sound

Mine turns off after like 20 seconds of ding.

It stays on for 2 minutes.

I know on Ford vehicles you can put the belt in and out 8 or 9 times and it eliminates it. Apparently it's not the same. Doesn't bother me, since I always wear it.

yea on the ford trucks u can just push the belt release and it turns it off.
and like i said i usually wear mine.. its only those few times i take it off early or run into the house, that stupid ding is so irriating it makes me want to smash my head of the steering wheel lol :P. maybe theres something wrong with me lol

It used to be that way with Ford, then they got wise and defeated the belt button cut out. I know my dad's 2002 SD had the option to do that, but anything newer does not.

Weird.... my ms6 has a knob right on the dash that some how turns mine off.... it says VOL or something on it. Just turn it clockwise and PRESTO... ixnay the ding away.
