So I'm ready to upgrade my fuel pump on my MS3. I've seen threads re: the mrlilguy pump. I thought this was a PG item but I don't see it on the "protegegarage" site. What's the price and where do I find it? It's either this pump or I will go with the maxflo fuel pump internals upgrade. Thanks for any help with this... (help)

Yea, it looks like that's probably the way I'll go. Was interested in how the "mrlilguy" pump is working for people and pricing...
update: On another forum it looks like some are having issues with this internals upgrade, many are reporting still getting low fuel pressure after the install. I really don't want to spend $279. on a part that may or may not work. Anyone here using this internals kit an how's your final result?

fuel pump problem

I also benefitted from MrLilGuy's help: he forwarded me a copy of the info from Mazda (a TSB, not a recall). Certain of our cars are likely to benefit from a replacement fuel pump. It depends on build date, or serial numbers of engine and/or the pump itself , IIRC.

I had continuing hesitation problems and had tried several different solutions, fruitlessly. Showed the TSB to my service writer & he had the pump replaced (he was sick of me bugging him and of constant re-flashing, injector replacement, and so on); problem solved.

Thanks, MrLilGuy!!

Yea, my car falls into the TSB category: #01-022-08... although it seems to be pumping plenty of fuel, according to my DashHawk I'm getting 1600-1750psi most of the time. I still think the internals upgrade is a good way to go with the usual power mods a lot of us are doing, (SRI-CAI, TIP, DP/RP...) (drive)
