Check Engine Light After Intake Install Help!!!

hi can anyone help me with my issue. i installed my cai and i followed the steps verbatum. (hope i spelled it right lol) and 8 hours after the install i get a check engine light do i have to take the battery terminal off again so the ecu can reset once more. does this go away or what??????

Disconnect the battery and press the brake pedal for like 15 seconds...then connect the battery again. If it's still there, try finding someplace that will read the code. There's not much we can do to help without knowing which code is being thrown. Do you have a DashHawk?

Did you scan the car to see what the CEL was thrown up for? You can check it with an AP, a dashhawk, or at autozone for free.

I could see that if you weren't really confident in your skills and had to take the front bumper off. But yeah, that seems a bit steep even then I guess.

In any case, try disconnecting the battery for a little while and if that does not fix the issue find a way to pull the CEL code.

Doesn't necessarily mean it took him 8 hours to install it - well at least I hope not. It just says 8 hours after he installed it :)

It would also help if we knew what CAI you installed.

Make sure you have tightened down all the clamps and make sure the MAF sensor is down tight and the connector is all the way in.

wut the hell you talkin about confidence in work!! i said nothing about bumpers or anything!! you dont know how i installed it.

I went from the stock airbox to the CP-E cold air intake and got a CEL as soon as I started the car. Used the dashhawk to read the code...IAT sensor. I cleared the code, started the car again, and everything was fine.
