Just another Silver MS3 with RX8s...

I spent last weekend cleaning the car (claybar, polish, wax) so I figured I'd create a picture thread to show off the results:

And one last pic of my two best hydrocarbon-consuming friends tucked away nicely in the (messy) garage:

Enjoy! :)

Sweet ride, Silver was my first choice, but all they had was red, or black. So Probable cause red it is.

very nice job! spotless! (thumb)

so what is a claybar for?

peel off those side moldings!

then it'll look completely shaven and sexy!!!

Damn that's the cleanest tailpipe I have seen on this car!

(lol2)

I actually forgot to give it a quick re-wipe before taking the pictures. I cleaned it two days before I took the pictures. I little bit of periodic NeverDull action goes a long way in keeping it clean. ;)

The claybar removes pretty much all of the contaminants in the paint, and prepares it for further polishing and wax.

It's a pain in the ass, but worth it. :)

Regarding the side mouldings:

I'm torn about taking them off. I think lowered MS3s end up looking way better than stock-ride-height MS3s without the side mouldings, and am unsure that I'd like how it looks enough to justify losing the protection they provide for my doors...I haven't really made up my mind yet...

What bulbs are you using in the rear turn signals. I`ve wanted to do that clean rear taillight thing for a while; the orange reflecting around looks kinda gay. Good looken!

I need to claybar my car when the spring rolls around. Did you use one or two clay bars to caly your MS3?

They're the "crome-amber" bulbs, like these:

I used two 80 gram bars this time, but got most of the car done with one. I only used the second one for the front bumper and fenders. That bar still has some life left in it, so it's sealed up in a Ziploc on my garage shelf now.

I'd say as long as your paint isn't in horrible shape contaminant-wise, you could get away with one 100 gram bar or two 50 gram bars.

nice job on the silverstar front turn signals. I have the same on my silver ms3.

deam the car is hot u need a nice fmic to go with the car let me know if ur interestd cause i live in fl too

What size tires you running? Any rubbing issues?

235/40R18 Kumho XS

I haven't experienced any rubbing issues yet, but I've yet to drive the car fully loaded (either with people or inanimate objects) since putting them on in the beginning of December...

thanks for the claybar info man. car looks good, sunlight silver is my second favorite color (thumb)
