COBB turbo inlet

you just explained it yourself lol
a daily driver should be somewhat good on gas.. thats how most people look at anyways

Yeah, I mean I know that, but I thought he meant there were other things that happend, I mean we all bought fast cars, and I'm sure most push their cars so mpg aren't gonna be good anyways especially with everyone that has intakes and few mods. I use my car as a daily driver but I don't think this will make that much of a difference, I could be wrong.

if it does you need to (bicker) with ur sales guy and if he says no again u need to (poke)him and (spank)him witch will start a (fight)(enguard)... In the mean time the lady behind the counter will be screaming (help) theres some (asshole) in hear. Then ur gunna say shut the F*** up ladie or ill kill ur (deadhorse). Now at this point you will be lucky not so see the (five-0). he will get out of his car and say:wtf:(stopwar), CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG(bahaha). Your going to get (locked)up. When you get to prison your cell mates will check out ur virgin butt and say(10)(hitit2). The only way to get out of it is to kick him in his(nuts). And all this because ur friggen turbo inlet voided ur warranty. Now is it worth it to you??

heck yea bro, i was ROLF when i posted it

I don't have the Cobb one but I just installed a turbo inlet and it seems to be drinking a little more gas. I just had my oil changed this morning and I'm going to refill my gas tomorrow and see how it goes.

i recieved my cobb inlet a few days ago. its beautiful but its in my closet. well worth what i spent on quality and looks and on other forums they speak highly of it

Installed mine a few days ago. Car seems to get into boost faster and above 4500 RPM's seems to pull harder.

I'm getting the CP-E inlet and will let everyone know how it is. Cobb is local, but they seem to be out of stock on the speed 3 parts. So I put an order in for a CP-E inlet on friday.

make sure you buy some vacuum hose before you do the install...many people run into this problem and you dont want to get caught without the hose or else you will have to put everything back together and drive to the store...or hitch a ride from someone else

do we need vacuum hoses for the cobb inlet also?
i just ordered mine from ken as well as a cobb sri cleaning kit

Any one have any pics please!!! Also how hard was the install? I want to buy it, but don't want to spend as much as the intake and not be it worth it. I also have a cobb sri which would go nice with this I guess...need some pics!!!

I installed mine this morning (Sunday 2/15/09). It took me about two hours by myself. Thankfully, I have a TV/DVD in the garage and threw on a Futurama DVD as I worked.

Anyway, the install is not that bad. I just took my time and went through everything as carefully as I could. Yes, it gets tight at times and you need to wedge yourself into some interesting positions to get at the hose-clamp holding the inlet to the turbo (both stock and Cobb).

The now-infamous vacuum hose from the wastegate did not give me one iota of a problem - just loosened the tiny hose clamp and pull straight up and it came off fine.

The one problem I ran into had to do with the hose that comes off of the Bypass valve (I have the RKM/HKS SSQV) and connects to the bottom of the turbo inlet (underneath the air intake).

I have the upgraded recirc hose from Street Unit. It's a lot beefier and thicker than the stock hose and it was a complete b**** to get into the Cobb metal fitting, but a good amount of grease and some muscle got it on.

Once everything was hooked back up and I took the car out, it's immediately apparent that the turbo spool is instant. With my Cobb intake, it made the turbo sound pretty audible when the engine was under load - usually about half-throttle at 3,000rpms and up. Now, with the inlet, turbo noise comes on at any throttle load. Tap the throttle and you'll get a nice little woosh - even right off the line in first gear.

Recirculation noise from the bypass valve is also a bit louder and deeper.

The butt-dyno indicates a slight bump from a stop all the way through the powerband.

All in all, a good mod for $160.00 and a couple hours of getting my hands dirty.

same setup here, hks ssqv and su silicon pipe for the recirc.

did the cobb inlet help at all with the crimping?
any pics? is your bov horizontal with the motor? or angled?

I got a SU recirc hose as well. It fit on my inlet pipe just fine but I couldn't get it on my aftermarket BOV at all. I may try it again son but MAN was that frustrating.

its weird...the cp-e it quiets everything down...but the cobb makes it slightly louder

both are silicone...one is 3 inches and the other is 2.5

I trimmed the silicon pipe down, so no crimping - a nice fit, actually.

Here's a picture of the valve from a few months ago: it's pretty horizontal.

Even though it's pretty horizontal, I still had to trim the intercooler shroud (I made it look a bit neater later with a Dremel).

cool thanks for the pics
yea i had to cut off a piece from the corner just like you
is the recirc hose pushing up on your cobb intake?
mine is heh.

gonna install my inlet probably next weekend, it should arrive this week from pg
