Weapon*R Secret Weapon Intake

Hey there MSP Forums.

I'd been looking for a decent intake that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg so I started looking at building my own out of Spectre Performance from Autozone. When i got my parts for less than $100 I found out that they were all plastic! Not even ABS. So I kept looking and found that Weapon*R builds one for the MSP. I got mine from ERZperformance.com for $205.

Here are a couple of pics:

Here you can see how it supports the filter.

I really like it so far. It sounds great, especially under boost! I'm not too fond of the foam filter, and you can tell from the pics that using the ram-air tubing is out of the question. I have a cotton-fiber filter at home that I'll be replacing the foam on with (I'm not at home right now). I'm also toying with the idea of building a cold air box over that fender hole.

I have more pics, but I think I've taken up enough space for now!

Update: I'm hosting the pictures from the forum now so you should be able to see them now!

Yeah, I want a Corksport FMIC too. Hopefully I'll be able to use this intake with it without any issues.

One issue I am having with the WR is that my BOV is turkey-ing. After talking to my buddy it sounds like I need to put a larger tube on the discharge side of my BOV.

i didnt get those mounting pieces on mine to support it, are they strong?

WOW it looks alot cheeper than it costs... im kinda supprised a foam filter (thats garbage)... looks like its worth about 150 tops, but its expensive...

I was able to bend them with my hand, but they seem to be doing the job so far.

I plan on building a fiberglass cold air box that'll replace the support anyway.

As far as the BOV tube goes, my buddy gave me the idea of just using some larger diameter heater hose to replace the tube that came with the intake. I think that'll do until I upgrade to a FMIC and an aftermarket BOV, with larger tubing etc.

I picked up this intake and like it. I got mine for $115 shipped and replaced the filter, couplers and worm clamps. I have no complaints otherwise. Its a nice product. I think you may have paid a tad much for it though.
