Engine Shampoo?

Was wondering if anyone had any ideas of the ideal way to shampoo a Protege 5 engine? What products are the best and what is the best method to do it?

Seafoam works great and easy to do. Get ready to white-smoke the neighborhood. It's actually a white steam....but there will be alot of it.

I prefer Suave...herbal essence just doesn't give my engine the body and shine I am looking for, and it's much more manageable. (bike)

Okay, enough of that...I have heard simple green is good stuff. I assume you are talking about cleaning the bay and not trying to clean excess carbon from the engine. I'll echo the above...there's an engine cleaning thread in the detailing section, I believe.

FWIW I use simple green for light grease and a product sold at most costcos
"Oil eaters," for the heavy stuff. It has salts in it, so be careful, but it does clean blocks quite well.

hmm. ill be sure to flush out my engine with water...it seems to clean it really well. i dont mean to be stereotypical but it seems like mustang dudes are a lil bit more unfriendly. i mean us mazda guys are pretty friendly to eachother and willing to lend a helping hand. not necessarily all mustang men are bad...but from wat i have seen on that post lol. even tho it was a stupid mistake

i don't think it was a matter of them being mean, i think it was a matter of being truthful, i really don't think that its a good idea to actually go ahead and do that
