Installed HID Fogs...

Just so others know. DDM Tuning has HID kits starting at around $35

You are the ****** man!! Just went on their site and found the hid kits for DIRT CHEAP! Man i didn't even know they carried all that. Now I can get my hid fog lights and replacement 55w 6k headlights and be done with it for less than $100

On the cheaper kits, I would use the extra harness for 55w. I got their $100 kit and have had no problems without the extra harness on the 55w, but have heard of people that have gotten cheap kits and the 55w burned the wires.

No saying their low end kits will do that but just a precaution.

How do you think their raptor $40 kit will do for my foglights ? i hope them ish's dont burn up lol.

OP, may I ask how you got the metal tab out, it looks to have a screw on the inside of the bulb compartment......

from what i can see it apeares that way. i think it is that way but i was just wanting confermation.

I have hids stock because I have an MS3GT....so I am just getting 55w replacement bulbs. For the fogs, I am planning on doing the 35w 3k kit.

Yeah it is key on, fogs on with the jumper method. Also they will stay on for about 5 seconds after you shut the car off.

As for the metal tab, I just used a pair of needle nose pliers and worked it back and forth until it broke off.

So, let me make sure I have this right:
I CAN use the jumper method with a Sport with stock Halogens.
If I wanted to change out all the halogens for HID, I would need 2 (or 3...) kits:
1 kit in 3000K yellow, type 9006 for the fogs
1 Kit in 6000K white, type H7 for the primary headlights
OPTIONAL (or is it insane/legal/whatever) 1 kit in 6000K white, type 9005, for the high beams.

Has anyone actually gotten the kits from the ebay listing? Seems to be the cheapest, and of course, I question cheap. If people have gotten them from the ebay listing and they actually work, dont ignite the engine bay, etc, then Ill get the fog kit, make sure they work alright, then go for the rest. Otherwise, where exactly did people get their kits? I went to DDM's page, apexzone, and a few others, and got lost, confused, and annoyed.

Thanks

is it ok to break the tab on hid? will it be annoying to opposite drivers? anyone tried?

im sure you get a lot of light out of replacing the highs with hid but cycles are what kill hids and in the high beam its not a permennt on its on for a min or two and then there is the flashing and with the 30 sec startup time of hids its not that advantages to have in the high.

just put a nice pair of luminics in the hights. I rarely ever use my highs anymore but I have a pair of Luminics simulated 3000k bulbs and they look bad ass. They light up really good but also the fill that area with a yellow glow when off and they stand out in pictures.

Installed! These are the DDm tuning lights. Apexcone. They are 35w 3000k hid kit. EAAAAAAAASY install. No need to take off the bumper. Had plenty of room if you just take off the entire mud/water guard from underneath. The middle part. It gives alot of acces to those fog lights area.

The pics are comparos of the HID vs stock. You cant tell THAT much cuz its day. but tonight i will get some more pics...the one on the left (lookin at it but its really the right fog) is the HId and the other is a stock comparison. At night they are very yellow, kinda like the OP. Will get pics.

more pics...this is where i mounted the ballasts. I doublie sticky taped it to the inner plastic area which i dont think will harm by melting/etc. I touched it and it didnt get too hot so i think it will all be ok.

there are three screws on the fog loosen them up and you should be able to ratate the fog. can you post a night pic Antonilgut

here ya go....

still need to raise the fogs...it seems they have a bright glare....sexy none the less...and i went with 3000k for usability over looks. I do wish the lights themselves were orangish...like lexus type...i thought this would be the correct temp but i suppose not.

Looks really good man! Did you remove the tab surrounding the bulb or did you leave it in?
