Opinions on a Carbon Fiber Look..

ill go with the evo one i really like the XC RC hood but 750 is hella high for a hood haha

My point of why most end up with a VIS hood.

VIS is a Low Quality hood.
Period.
Its cheap....And in Purely Stock form, will likely start to cloud and yellow within about a year or so no matter how much you clean and wax it.

You can Clear it when new and dealy/eliminate the problem...but that adds more money to the cost of the hood putting it n the range of a nice hood that is properly protected from UV Rays when you get it.

Also..the Evo hood from VIS would look fine..had they not put the two little extra vents on it that dont follow any line of the hood or car.
They look totally out of place and look like they are crooked in the position VIS decided to put them in in reference to the body line of the hood.

I think its junk....and the problems with it and othe VIS hood from the majority tell the tale.

yes... all the ones i've seen (total of 3) on the island where faded and didn't even look like carbon fiber... that was the main factor why i didn't get it

i wonder why my buddys is not like that, his is in the sun snow rain all that s*** and its just fine

does anyone other than vis make evo CF hoods though? if not than theres not much choice then to get it and clear it. If I were to pick I'd want Seibon to make it.

Time....Give it Time.

It all depends on what and how its Exposude to UV....Its all about the UV...Not the weather.

its been about 4 years, it sits in direct sunlight all the time haha it sits outside a house not covered or any of that

Seibon and Vis are like the same company.

Everyone thats ever had, has, a vis has nothing but good things to say so we'll see in due time how correct you are mr. fed.

here's a v-weave from gemini composites

and another v-weave reverse cowel

man google is redonculouse

v-weave = a v-weave down the middle of the hood

and the good'ol DG hood (but freakin expensive) i've seen this one up close and it's just as if not sexier than the reverse cowel
p5-functional-hood.jpg

if i was still N/A the DG would be the one i would get but since boosting the reverse cowel would be more functional for me

the only guy on the island that has it

My thing about wanting a VIS is the fact that the vents would allow more air in than the XC hoods. I can get either one, but that's why I'm leaning more toward the VIS hood.

That DGM Hood is my fav. :)

But sadly im not NA and i dont have that much money hahaha, so im going with the XC Hood :) (the duel vent one i just cant remember its name haha)

I say DO IT!! lol

If you're liking the CF, rock it!

And, that DG hood.....oh......ma.......gahd......!!I want!

Paint the cf hood, paint it the car color on the sides of the hood then on the center part paint it with a clear car color version to give it to car color but still lets the carbon fiber design show through

i hate the VIS evo hood, the only reason why it's on my car is because i bought the car with it installed already...and i don't have the stock hood. although, as much as i hate the hood, i love the carbon fiber look so it kinda evens out.

the hood DOES get sunfaded terribly, and i mean it clouds up so bad that you can't even tell its carbon fiber at all. luckily for me, the shop that rebuilt my car after the accident stripped it down and recleared it and it looks brand new now.

I will have a CF hood and trunk eventually but they will both be painted titanium to have a sleeper look.

I wonder how that would look with the titanium though.. if it would make it look a darkish charcoal grey?

the middle part? not sure maybe have someone photochop it for you
