How did you other Aeroforce guys install it with the bracket? I would have had to trim mine down to fit, so I just wrapped some cardstock around my gauge to make it thicker...
Here are the pics I promised ages ago. Sorry for the delay.
You can see where I routed the wire... it's not the prettiest, but it didn't require trimming.
Closeup of the gauge when on. As you can see, mine has red backlighting, black face, black trim. I think it works well in the Ventpod.
View from the driver's seat.
You can see it does have a bit of a reflection in the glass... more-so at night. It appears right in the top corner of the rear-view mirror. But I have learned to look around it now.
I did not use the bracket for my aeroforce guage. I just wrapped some electrical tape around it to make it fit nice and snug. It was really loose without it.
i customized the bracket they gave me. if u guys wanna send me urs ill do them the same way i did mine and send em back to u. look up a few pics and u can see mine uses the bracket and its perfect.
Installed mine last night - just gotta connect the wiring to the fuse panel tonight and slide the glove box back in and finito.
Overall it's a great product and well worth the money. My Prosport gauge was a bit too large so I had to dremel the pod a bit which was a pain but I got it to work. Ended up slapping a piece of electrical tape around the gauge and it fits nice and snug (as recommended somewhere in this thread).
Even though its a loose fit its still works out perfectly and with the bracket u can center it and it aint going no were. im not a fan of using electrical tape on it cause with the heat of the summer and stuff electric tape gets really soft and gluey.
Just ordered mine... Does anyone have any recommendations as to what gauge to get? Like most, I want it to match the stock as much as possible. I leave the brightness setting on the lowest possible if that matters. I had an autometer-lite in my MSP. Quality was ok (much better than the Stewart Warner pos it replaced) but the needle fluttered like crazy. I'm willing to pony up the dough for a good quality gauge in order to avoid that crap.
