I got my vent pod today... Wow, install is easy and only took 15 mins!!!! Actually, removing the OEM vent and installing this one, only takes 3 mins if that long. Whats awesome is that there is no need for cutting or drilling.
Here are a few pics:

Install is easy, just pull out your OEM vent (it simple slides out with some force, but not brute force), the turn the inner ring clockwise and slide out...

You have to remove the panel that runs underneath and around the steering wheel.

Unhook the hood release cable, slide out the handle (you need to use a flat head screwdriver and wedge it between the dash and handle to depress the locking mechanism), and remove the screw behind it, then the panel just pulls out; its held be clips.
Route your wires.

And install your gauge into the vent pod.

Definitely better than having the gauge on the steering column. :D
Thanks for your efforts with install instruction and pics, really looks as good as I hoped when this whole thing started. I will get my order in soon!

Yeah, this was the situation we've had to work around. Some are tighter than others (did I say that). If the guage is too tight, there are three small "sacrificial" ribs on the inner diameter of the guage bore that you should be able to widdle down fairly easily if need be. These features act as crush ribs for guages that fall on the small end of the size range. ;)

I'm going to post the instructions on my webpage also. I'll also ask Donny if he can do the same. ;)

I installed my gauge the same day I got it.

I had the opposite problem... my gauge was super loose and the gauge mounting hardware didn't work with the ventpod. I cut out some cardstock and wrapped it around the gauge and now it fits nice and tight!

I do get some glare at night, but I'm getting used to it now. I wonder if the tint on my windows is making it worse.

Very happy with the product, though. I do wonder if I need to protect the back of the gauge from the heat from the vents.

Thanks, MTuning.

Gvr4, your gauge should be fine without any sort of shielding. Gauges see much higher temps from sun loading in dash pods than any amount of heat your HVAC system can throw at it. ;) Also, I had gauges in my Mustang vents since 2002 with zero issues.
BTW, what brand gauge did you use? I've found that a couple of windings of electrical tape works great for snugging up gauges. ;)

mine was clockwise too. I tried counter-clockwise, but did not work.

Honestly, I went both ways and back and forth until I felt a little click. It still didn't seem to want to budge. Then finally the top half was free, but the bottom half was stuck (shrug).

I had to keep wiggling and pulling until it came free.

I think every car is going to be a little different...

I'm using an Aeroforce Interceptor Scangauge. Next time it's out, I'll wrap some electrical tape around it. But the piece of cardstock I'm using works great too.

Gvr4-330, Im looking to get the same setup you have. Post a pic or two with it installed please. What color combintion did you go with?

I just received my vent pod and the quality is awesome. I don't know if my Defi Red Racer is a little bit larger than the standard 52mm but it didn't fit. It was a little to large for the pod. After a little bit of shaving, my gauge fit in nicely. Very satisfied!

i have the same Defi gauges and i had to grind it down also. Dremel FTW lol

FYI, i had a ProSport gauge laying around and it wouldn't fit without modifications.
