Ventpod Group Buy Feeler!

Installed mine last night. I do not like how it is angled away from the driver (used to have mine on the apillar) but it is MUCH sleeker and theft deterrent. Some heat still comes through, but its not angled at the driver. We will see what happens in the next few days when the temp dive bombs again.

Also, I was about to get under the dash when I found a how to saying to take the outer ring, rotate it clockwise and it snaps out... FANTASTIC!! Then just drop a string with a weight or a hanger down the vent under the steering column and pull your wires up :D My chorus has their big concert tonight. I have ventpod pics on my phone but I will post them up on wednesday.

Yikes. The car I used was definitely cc. Hmmm...

I guess, inevitably, the point is to rotate it until you can remove it.

Everyone, please let me know which way you rotated it. There may be some that go one way and some that go the other. I'd like to see if maybe the car I used was an anomaly or not.

Thanks!

Oh damn, its been a while... Let me look for my post with the install.

Edited:

Here it is:

I tapped in the passenger fuse box:
-Constant power: OBD
-ACC (white): Sunroof
-Lights (amber): Illumination

Yeah, this was the situation we've had to work around. Some are tighter than others (did I say that). If the guage is too tight, there are three small "sacrificial" ribs on the inner diameter of the guage bore that you should be able to widdle down fairly easily if need be. These features act as crush ribs for guages that fall on the small end of the size range. ;)

I'm going to post the instructions on my webpage also. I'll also ask Donny if he can do the same. ;)

its no bigger than a rock chip but no worries.

im curious to the ones installed if they have any problems with glare?

Oops, I forgot to report...

I do get a little glare during the day with the window down...but nothing that prohibits you from clearly reading the gauge. At night with the windows rolled up, you get two reflections; one on the upper left corner of the windshield and driver' side window right at the center of the side rear view mirror...its a little hard to look at your side rear view mirror since your eyes focus on the reflection of the gauge instead of whats being reflected in the mirror.

Again, slight inconveniences for an uncluttered steering column.
I wish there was a way to eliminate the glare and reflections, but I'm willing to live with it.

Are you using an luminescent gauge, like an indiglo type or something? I had the same issue in my Mustang with the a-pillar pods.
The other types of gauges reflect a lot less.

Well, it does have a smoked lens where it blacks out when off. I'm sure that just makes it worst.

See post 711...
