I got a quote for getting tint on my MP5 '02, and the merchant said $250 w/ a lifetime warranty. Is that a good deal, or am I getting robbed?

Also, is there a place where I could get OEM yellow paint for the mp5?

thats about how much it cost me for tint with lifetime warranty. they usually charge you based on the number of individual windows they have to tint, which is 10 (if you have a sun/moon roof, otherwise its 9). It also depends on the place too, and their reputation because there is to some degree different qualities of tint.

if youre looking for just touch up paint, you can get a bottle from the dealership for about $6 a bottle.

If you are going to paint the entire car then have the shop match it.

It shouldn't cost you more than 150 for tint.

$250 is extremely cheap! go for it! The dealership I work for sells it for $495 just make sure that lifetime warranty covers the installation as well as the film.

$250 is a bit much however besides changing for quality and shop rep. it changes also depending on where you live. I paid $180 for mine with a lifetime warrenty but I live in Texas with a cheap cost of living.

As to the mazdaspeed protege 5. You could build one or just buy the badge. Either way its still an awesome car.

Oh and never trust dealerships to add on options aka tint. They charge you an arm, leg, and.... well if your male its not pretty...

$150 for my 5% tint on all 9 windows and they took the old tint off aswell and its lifetime warranty but doesnt cover getting a ticket for it lol.

took them about and hour and a half to do it all and they took the old tint off by hand which is a lot harder than just spraying a solution on it and peeling it off easily in an hour.

i'd check with a regular dealership with a bodyshop and go from there. paint is expensive for a whole car. its about $200 to just repaint my side mirrors.

You could always try and call another couple of tint shops and see what they would charge. But NEVER go to one of those places with signs stuck to phone poles, sure tint for 90 or 100 dollars sounds good, but it will most likely look like crap in a year or two.

Agreed. try asking people u know and see who they recomend. thats how i found out the place i took my car
