fuel-cut virginity lost

+1 def. get SSAFC first, but just remember that when you see one being sold that has been used that if its v1 you can not data log with it. v2 lets you datalog your A/F ratio so you can look at them after you do a pull. Its not something you need, but it makes tuning nice cause you can look at the results after make the changes you think will work.

if you still dont have an AFC by time i get running we will meet up and ill show you the program. Its a pretty easy unit to tune and i have about 10 maps that we can try on your car and tweak too once you get the AFC setup. Also there is a nice stretch of highway by my house that is good for doing some pulls on. Not populated with cars and no cops.

so thats whats goin on with mine. only does it when its cold. seems to not do it now that i switched over to 94 but... i guess an afc is one of the first ideal mods heh. can you run anfmic kit without the afc or is it smartest to wait untill you have both?

not to threadjack. my car does this when cold and it scared thec rap out of me when it first happened.

i ran my HiBoost FMIC for with no AFC, but ultimately you want want to get a SSAFC. It just solves alot of the problems with the car.

i plan on getting the afc, i just figure, while having the trans open, i should do the flywheel (i should do the LSD too, but no cashola right now). the AFC is next on the list and i plan on getting it new. just something about buying anything that has wires used kinda scares me.

I bought mine used and it has worked like a charm for 2 years. The wires are long and you only have to do 2 wire splices. I believe 4 wire taps.

hmmm guess i wont go in on that turbolife GB then. sucks. was a good deal too. corksport for me i guess =)

Add fuel? How to? would a Walboro fuel pump help add fuel at all?

side note: when I took off my blown WGA that solved a LOT of problems including fuel cut up to 10 psi (I would hit it all the time when it was 50 degrees or cooler). Now I can do 10 psi in 10 degrees. I have not one time hit fuel cut since the new WGA.

that wont help alone, you need to be able to control your injectors to add more fuel, but that is def. something you would wont to do the help add more fuel when you actually need to add fuel lol, most of the tuning on fairly stock MSP's involves taking fuel away since it runs so rich from the factory

well on this discussion, do you need an o2 clamp when you run the afc?

dont tempt me, i DONT have the money... and.. i have NOT inquired about cashing out my vacation pay just to get it.. or using to pay my visa, so i can put a deposit on it...
that kit seems so much more plug and play than the rest. but ive missed the signup time so it doesnt matter anyway.

ya if you can dish out the the 1200 bucks for it and you have time to have your car down for a lil bit while you get it working right.

What im trying to figure out is what other parameters do standalone offer. I want to be able to control fuel and ignition timing for under 700 bucks i can get the SS unit that let me do that, now i know the standlone will get rid of your top speed limiter let you raise your red line and you can get 2 step with it, but those are not all the necessary, but the red line increase would be nice though. are there any other tuning aspects that you can do.

depends which standalone unit you go for.

the haltech E8 has SOOOOO many features its unbelievable. obviously, you would never use them all, but they are there if you want to.

I've got a SS AFC, have had it 2 years and 2 weeks ago started getting fuel cut with the same map I used last year. I worked on the map last night and added more fuel went out for a drive and still had fuel cut came home added more fuel and drove to work this morning and still, fuel cut BAD!!!!!! as soon as I hit boost. getting 12-13 psi boost spikes gonna blow motor #2 if I don't fix soon.....

how is your wastegate? I had fuel cut terrible, did 2 fixes. Replaced the wastegate acctuator and converted from cai to sri with the temp sensor put into the filter. Haven't hit fuel cut since and I've been boosting 10 psi in five degree MN weather.
