Just to get the record straight:

I totally agree. I feel that photoshop is cheating, but if others are using it I figure I may as well also. However, my goal is to get some great shots w/o post processing assistance.

I know Im gettin a little deffensive, but I dont want anyone to (especially creative peers) to think I'll rely on photoshop to get a good shot.

i am just saying the picture i took is not photo edited in any way.

The guy posting said it was a great pic and needed to learn to photoshop now.

I didn't use it for that pic, but i do understand what you're saying

But, if you look in my deviantart, only 2 pics in that have been photo edited. the rest of the pics are straight from the cam

I re-read my post and realized how vague it was. I read that the shot was un-altered, thats why I admire it so much. I said the blurb about photoshop refering to the rules of the contest.

In no way did I mean to imply your shot looked photoshoped, its clear you talent..... WHEW, ok now I feel better, sorry for the confusion.

Depending on what you're doing in PS, it's not necessarily cheating. back in the day when I shot with film we did plenty of darkroom editing and manipulation. this whole topic is for another forum though.

I do like that folks there are into photography more than other boards. My shots however will be more of my kids than my cars (sssh)

I've been trying to get a shot of these trees on campus but it's been raining all week idk if I'm going to enter this month

NVP5White: Done. All you need to do is learn how to use depth of field, color temperature and aperature settings correctly. You can easlily take pictures that need no editing whatsoever. I do it all the time.
