Ok, I just had this awesome thought, I found this place where one of you guys can swap your MS3 engine for an STI or better engine if you want to make this awesomness happen. What if I took my Mazda3 and swapped out the engine for a 2.3 DISI and make...wait for it...the best sleeper ever. I could even move the TMIC to an FMIC so the only thing you see outside of the car is a nice, clean FMIC. Inside the car, I could very easily swap out the MS3 transmission's 6-speed shifter knob and boot for a MZ3 5-speed shifter knob and boot to conceal the goodness even better.

This is like the best idea ever and all I really need is money, a place to pick up the MS3 engine, MS3 6-speed transmission, MS3 FMIC, MZ3 shifter, and MZ3 shift boot. I really only would need help finding the tranny and engine. The shift boot, FMIC, and knob I can find (steal from an mz3 on the lot) somewhere else.

Anyway, ultimate sleeper MZ3? Anybody?
Sleeper FTW!!! (burnout)

I think this would end up costing a ridiculous amount of money... but it is a fantastic idea. I have heard and agree that it would probably be cheaper to build a forged motor and boost it for a reg 3. But it is a really excellent idea for a sleeper.

There's a guy on here who but a $100 vibrant resonator in after his dp/rp to cut volume and lost no power. A fast quiet unsuspecting sleeper, if you have the money do it!! :D

Am I missing something here? Engine swaps aren't exactly a new thing. And if you were seriously considering said swap, you could have just done a search as I'm sure this topic (as tired as it may be) has been covered on more than one occasion.

sounds way to expensive... ms3 is fairly sleeper ne ways lol

mz3 turbo > Boxter

People dont really seem to get the fact that STI's dont make MASSSSSSSSIVE power. Does the term overrated mean anything to you?

If you want massive power, cut the s*** drop a 2jze in that bish with a t-66 and wait till 8k rpms to crap yourself.

i would only think this was a good idea if it was done to a sedan! if it was to a hatch i would just call u an idiot and ask u why u didnt just buy a ms3! not being an ass but it would prolly end up costing the same!

it has been done before, ive read on mazda speed forums
I searched that, couldn't find it.
why not just put a ******* turbo in the mz3?
I've read up on the turbo deals and that power doesn't equate to the power of an MS3 engine.
itd be more like

ROFLMCFUCKINGLOL DUDE!!! That was grrrrrrrrrreat!

I thought about doing it to a sedan but I own a hatch that's out of commission in the damn Mazda warranty sector of the shop so...
Besides, this would be the best sleeper MS3 ever, you have to admit. "an MS3 in MZ3 clothing"

just buy an ms3, put some stock 17s on it, remove badges/spoiler, and most people wouldn't know the difference

This was a thread just for fun and that would be kind of a neat idea but I'm not actually going to do this. One reason I started the thread is to see what people would say.

Wait, remove the spoiler and badges and put on 17's? No way people around here would say that it's not an MS3. That front end and the lip on the rear bumper is a dead giveaway.

once again... what is the point of this thread...
this has been beat to death over and over already in other threads.

why not just do this to your 3

and trying to fit a boxer engine in our car would be a female dog. if you really want to do a swap why not do a 4g63 they are built strong and can handle some high power stock. the subie motor is a good motor its great for sand rails, early porshe swaps, subbie swaps and you can get some decent numbers out of them.

+1 you can get 4g63 motors relatively cheap and build them for pretty cheap too!!

as long as we are going after fnf references (thanks for putting a smile on my face) why don't you throw in a 7 speed dsm tranny and a motec exhaust ;)
