Mazda Protege Owner Photos

DJ DUB i like the rims w/out chrome imo, i always feel like chrome doesnt belong on a car if the car doesnt have any stock - plus i like the b/w theme

What do you think about painting my stocks black for now? Overkill or no? My bud is really good at photoshop so I'ma have him put both wheels on my car and see what looks better, chrome lip or solid.

DJ Duwb:i love black wheels on light colored cars. since your car is so low, i think, the wheel you posted in a 16 or 17 would look good with the body kit. with stock bumpers and a car that low, i think a 14 or 15 would be ok.
also i have been thinking about lowering it. i can choose what set up i want though

Depending on my money income around the time getting wheels is a real possiblity, I might stay with 15s so I can use my same tires or if I'm making enough, I'll try for 16s or 17s with a thin enough tire so it doesn't raise the car too much.

Well since the closest point of the car is less than 2 inchs off the ground, I bearly have any wheel gap. I don't wanna jinks it but to this day, I have not hit anything with the bottom of the car or bumpers and haven't got stuck.

......knock on wood

lol you said copped.

im j/k wit u man.

U hadnt hit the ottom of ur car? ur not driving no where then. i have a few times, i trhee wheel, jumped all 4s, front wheels spinning not reaching the ground when i pull out steep drive outs, grinded on the rear sway bar.

now i cud easly get stuck. my wheel cant move anymore than an inch downwards.

Trust me bro, I might as well live in san Fransisco. Not to brag or nothing but just good driving, there are plunty of steep drive ways and s*** around here to get stuck in. I am on 3 wheels a lot when I pull in/out of drive ways. Do you cut sideways or do you go straight on?

Jeg i would get it painted to match and you will be good to go.

Yeah, im just waiting on a good time to get it paitned when I can get it done in one day.

hey jeg where did you get those fogs at? there like a blueish color, makes them look better to me

or do you just have a blue bulb?

I just have foglight overlays from www.headlightarmor.com, they went on easy and haven't faded as much as some rockblockers I have seen.

keep the stock ones as they are, dnt bother painting them, and id say go with 17's the just looks so good on proteges which is ironic since i have 18's on my LX (i do hate, however, when people put 17's on MS3's they deserve 18's and nothing less, sorry of the rant).

Hi, I’m trying to find a way to put a ’00-’03 gauge cluster in a ’99 protg
but I need some help figuring it out.

I posted this in electronics, but I figure it might be faster if I reach out to more 3rd gen owners.

I would appreciate if anyone who owns a 2000-2003 protg would check their gauge cluster wire harness and write down which pins are connected and what color wires are connected to them.

I did it for the ’99 Mazda Protg LX, so now I have to figure out what the difference is for ’00-’03. Everything seams to work between these two different clusters except for temperature gauge and tachometer. Since gauge faces are pretty much interchangeable, the only difference must be the pinout on the wire harness.

Here’s one for the 1999 LX…

He's putting the 16" ES wheels on, which have better acceleration than 17"s. I've alredy noticed the difference, but I do agree that 17" wheels fit proteges perfectly :)

i'm talking about for my MS3, i'm putting the RX7 FD 16x8 and weigh about 17 lbs a piece.

Reasons i'm doing this is cost of tires, plus i can get the stock wheels and tires off and keep them in mint condition for if i ever decide to sale the car later.

also, i hate spinning all the way through third gear, and with these i can fit 245's no problem
