got hit byy a golf by driving through a golf course around my neighborhood. im going to see what can be done about putting up a net of some sort. it literally bounced infront of my car 6 feet away and i was doing about 35mph. woulda been a big ****** dent or crack on windshield.(protest)

you might be able to get a net put up, but aside from that, there's usually not much you can do about it. there's a golf course near here run by the county park, and one hole parallels a moderate-traffic road. there is a net separating the fairway and road, and the net is probably almost 30 feet tall so it actually does the job most of the time. however, its not perfect, as some people can really butcher trying to hit a long drive (my friend lives across the street from said fairway and has had his kitchen window broken 3 times and finds dozens of golf balls in his yard every month in the summer).

so one day, someone was driving a nice car back from an auto show, and got hit by an errant shot. ball did a decent amount of damage to the car, can't remember how much but i'd like to say between $2k and $4k. sued the county, but they're not held liable for errant balls hit on their course, and i believe they ruled that the golfer is not liable either (not sure on that part) so this guy got gouged for the repair costs.

sucks, but theres not much you can do in this situation. even good golfers can make mistakes that go over the net, and it'd be tough to hold anyone responsible for the damages apparently.

if thats how it went down then I would have went and started whacking golf balls at the club house and try and get every window I could....I cant help it that I kept slicing the damn thing (dunno)

Many moons ago, a friend and I hit up a local par-3 course after downing a few at the 19th hole. We also hit up the beer cart whenever it rolled by. By the 18th, with our scores rapidly deteriorating, we decided it would be fun to aim for the clubhouse from the tee. My friend nearly nailed (not in the good way) some teenage girl as she walked into the path of fire. Her father was so pissed, and we were banned for life.

Nothing to do with your story, but I'd thought I'd share.

I admit that sucks, but when I'm in the woods, I'm expecting to see bear s***. Ya know? :-)

I have hit a moving car with a golf ball -- unintentionally about 12 years ago. the road paralleled the fairway and using my driver, sliced the c-rap out of my shot. it was like a car seeking missile, went straight about 10 feet, acquired its target (driver's side door panel), veered hard right bounced once on the pavement and hit with a very audible SMACK. the driver didn't stop or slow down -- I felt pretty bad and was done playing for the day...my buddies about pee'd themselves laughing so hard.

After that, I avoided driving down that road myself.

man. this reminds me of when i had my tC.

i was driving down one of the main roads, and a golf ball was bouncing down the street at probably 30mph the opposite way. i don't know how this thing got on the road but it was weird.

and this was in traffic.

luckily the golf ball hit the ground right before i reached it so it just bounced around underneath the car. pretty lucky i think. i thought for sure it was gonna hit my car. haha.
