What have you done to your MSP today?

normal vac is 20-22. I dont see how all that would would make less vac cause its supposed to be sealed, yea it might have more space to fill with the pnp stuff in the mani but i would think it should remain the same vac. sounds like you have a leak, especially where its hissing. but thats just a guess on where it is. see if u can do the smoke test. that works alot better than the carb stuff, i never got the carb thing to work for me.

Yeah, i might have to remove my Intake Manifold to check if i have something wrong with it. i don't know a crack, bad gasket or anything else, if the gasket is good, can it be reused ? i hope i can because i don't feel like waiting to get one from US, if i have a leak in the intake manifold, what do you think it might be Terbow ? the sound is very strong in the last 2 runners, to the right side of the manifold

ive heard you cant reuse the intake mani gasket. it has some kinda heat activated adhesive or whatever and once u remove it, it doesnt seal the same again. I know when i did my 626 mani half the gasket was on the head half was on the mani, so i wouldnt do anything till you have a new one just incase, so your not stuck without a car.

gosh, leaks could be anywhere. the gasket could have blown out from not being torqued enough, too much torque, could be cracked, not level. i cant say but i do know if u have a loud hiss or sucking noise thats usually where to start looking for problems. if u know a shop who can do the fog test, do that first so u can identify a leak. however if u dont and need to just do it by trial and error, the hissucking sound is great place to start. but before you do, id make sure you have a new gasket so your not down.

Bro, now that I'am thinking, the car started to have that noise when TBK did my Turbo Upgrade, and custom head, i freaking bet these people didn't put a new gasket, is leaking in the last 2 runners of the manifold, what chances i have to be a simple problem, you think by adding a new intake manifold gasket and torque it to spec will solve the issue, i mean the head was brand new and so the 626 intake manifold.. one more question, the stock Intake mani and 626 do they share the same gasket ? also can i reuse the TB gasket ?

I think that if u have a hissing in the mani, then yea a new gasket properly done will help alot. Make sure u clean all the old gasket off the head and mani, thats also important. I got my gasket from ken, it came with the mani, i can get you a part number later when i talk to him. I would imagine its the same though or the mani woudlnt mate up to the head.

finally got some s*** taken care of while i was away on vacation.

-finally had my ground control coilovers installed and a four wheel alignment
-had the atp wastegate installed
-put two new bolts in the exhaust manifold that must have worked there way out, eliminated that whistling noise.
-patched a tire with a screw in it
-took care of the rattling/banging from the front passenger wheel well
-shot the rear sway bar bushings with some wd40 to quiet down the squeeks for a little while

car still rides well with the lower stance and looks so much nicer. i'll have some pics up soon. i don't really notice the claimed gain in boost with the atp wastegate but i have a boost gauge on the way to actually get a true reading.

the car still feels like it hits a wall between 3 - 5k rpm's even with the custommsp smic and corksport exhaust so i think this weekend it's time to clean out the maf, install new plugs, and give it a much needed oil change.

can I make my own Gaskets ? also if i remove the TB can i reuse the gasket or i need to get a new one as well ? do you need to take the intake manifold to get straightener ?, sorry if is not spell right,

you shouldnt have to take it to be leveled unless they messed up the head or the intake flange(where the surfaces mate). i wouldnt make your own gasket cause youd be missing that sealing adhesive. TB you'll definately have to get a new one. same deal on that one. and make sure you get all the old stuff off. If you do the gasket properly and have a leak then either the mani or head was milled wrong.

but is it normal that a intake manifold gasket fail ? what can cause that ?

one thing i want to add, i see that you have an Evo in your signature, have you also notice your Evo looks like a regular lancer ? Man those Evo's without their unique wing looks so plain they look like they have lost they courage, it looks like is missing something is more noticeable in the Evo than in the MSP but once again these is just about how do you like your car to look..

I like the wingless look on Evo's but it's just not for me, that's why the wing was put back on a week or so after that picture was taken. I did enjoy much less attention and being a little more stealth without it though.

One other thing could have happened...you intake manifold could be cracked. If tbk tightened down the intake mani to the head and then put on the intake mani brace and tightened it down it could of cracked the manifold at the flange

normally no. but, if they didnt take off all the old gasket, or if they reused the stock one, or if the mating surfaces arent level, or if it was under torqued(cracked mani), or over it can and probably will fail.

Bro i hope not, i hope is just a bad intake manifold gasket.... damn i need part numbers for all of the gaskets i might need. i'm going to replace them all, intake mani gasket, TB, and EGR Valve... can you guys hook me up with some parts numbers, also from where can i buy them, i need them to be shipped here to spain.. also do you guys have the torque specs for the manifold ?

Bro the Manifold don't have the Brace the goes on the back.. i noticed that s*** today...

that could also have caused it to crack. Some ppl that havent had it on have had their intake mani crack

if is cracked, can that s*** be fixed ? I can't believe a ******* professional work that way, i had that s*** on when we did the engine, now from where the hell im going to get a brace to prevent my manifold from cracking, also are rich's manifold going to have a brace as well ?

no rich's isnt going to have it his really dosent need it. if its cracked at the flange its not likely

I swear man, ,**** TBK for real.. that brace was on when i did the engine with my friend Alejo, this guys just didn't put it back and most likely the manifold is cracked... but i need to get the gaskets before removing anything, because at least the car runs good the way it is...

can you get me torque specs, and part numbers for the gaskets i need, IM,TB, EGR

also ryan what's the thermal spacer for ? any pictures ?
