Fuel Cap Broken!!!! need ur advice

sup everyone... last saturday afternoon went to gas,and the guy who works there broke my fuel cap!!!! i was like how the hell did it break??? i would like to know if the dealer will replace without charging me? i called the dealership where i bought my car from and they said thats its not covered!!! (scratch)

Is it the cap that is broke or the filler neck? My little flipper thing in the filler neck stopped retracting one day. I am always worried that gas is going to spill out on hard corners.

thats what i told the guy from the dumb ass gas station! but he said s*** happens and those break!!! i was like WTF?! is that the best solution you can give me??!!! sighs....
Go back and break a few of his fingers and tell him the same. :D

Can you still get it open to put gas in it? That would be a huge factor in how high my "pissed-off" level would be about the situation...

BS. How would this not be a warranty claim? Call a different dealership...

i did call some other dealer said thats it shld cover but we need to physically see it... so i called my a%#hole dealeship back and told them how come the other dealership is willing to replace my fuel cap for free. and you guys dont?!

that thin cable that hold my gas cap broke one day. I didnt think much of it i mean s*** happens but if i can get replacement under warranty why not?

Personally, I would take off the cap and carry it into the Service department at the dealership. I would then ask them if they could give me a replacement under warranty. Maybe if they realize it won't take any time from their service techs, they will give you one just to get rid of you. :)

thats what im planing to do... and i hope they replace it without going thru BS

Probably cheaper (time-wise) and easier to just get a locking cap. One more reason I like to DIY. Man, has it extended to gas fill ups, too? Reminds me of the time some knuckle-dragger was gonna put gas in the oil tank of my Kawasaki.

so i was able to get my fuel cap replace for free... thank god for that! but do they really have to TEST DRIVE THE CAR???!!!! like around the block???(pissed) i hear the intake and freakin BOV reving hard and not even stopping to those speed bump... (pissed). this is the freaken reason why i hate going to the dealer.(bang)
