Hey guys I just received my COBB SF SRI yesterday and put it on my speed6 last night. I finally received it after three months of waiting. I just love the sound of that intake. the installation was not that difficult and took me about half an hour. there is one thing i was not sure about, am i suppose to hear the intake sucking air all the time when i push on the gas or i am only suppose to only hear it when i switch gears?

I dont have the Cobb SRI (I guess now its time for me to finally buy one now that they are available) but I used to have a Fujita CAI and I heard intake sucking noises all the time when under load, and heard a "wooosh" during shifts.

I would suspect the SRI would be the same exact way.

think about the logistics of an engine. when you hit the gas you are pulling more air and fuel into the chambers for combustion, so of course you are gonna hear the intake more under load.

the whoosh you hear when you shift is actually the BPV releasing built pressure in the turbo. not the intake at all.

in my protege i used to get a sighing type sound when turning the engine off, but i havent noticed that in the speed at all.

I know I just got lucky with the one i got. I think the one i got is the one of very few that COBB made. Just don't order it from SU. they lied to me for three months. I called them every week for the past two months and every time they tell me it is coming "by the end of this week" and never happened. So i called corksport and they also told me that they don't have it and it might take a while before they get it. so i left my phone number in case they get any. then after a couple of days they called me and told me that they received only one SRI for MS6 and it is mine. I don't have any pics now but i will try to get some tomorrow and upload them for you guys to see.

Looks good, I had plans to buy the SRI, I prefer SRIs over CAIs on turbo cars.

You probably have to read exactly what i wrote. if u go back and read it u will see that i meant the sound not during shifting but while pushing gas on any gear.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
