Shifter scratches!?!

Hey all, thanks for your feedback! I'm glad to hear it's not just me. To reiterate, I have no jewelry on my right hand and these is nothing near my shifter. These little nicks and dings seem to just appear overnight. Oh well, looks like aftermarket is the way to go!

Same deal here. No jewelry and nothing hitting it. I seriously can't figure out where the scratches (some of them pretty deep) came from. (boom06)

When I bought my car it was already scratched up. Told the dealer I wanted a new one and it should be here by the end of the week. Ill probably sell both on ebay and go aftermarket.

I have several scratches on mine.. couldn't quite figure out how the first scratch got there but one day when I was putting on my seatbelt.. "whack!"

its a really soft clear coat, actually feels like gel. first day driving it home I found a tiny little scratch. and after driving it for the past 3 days, that one scratch is the lone scratch.

Too funny. I am probably the world's worst about cleaning and coddling my car. It gets all its mechanical maintenance and I watch tire pressure, etc, but I do nothing for appearance, and my shift knob is pristine. About the only piece of the interior that is, too.
