What have you done to your MSP today?

Bought my Unichip. (thumb)

But I won't install it right away out of fear that something might go horribly wrong if it doesn't work well with my P&P'd intake manifold (w/ VTCS removed).

Once I get my Steedspeed turbo manifold and Corksport S-pipe installed, I'll get a good EBC and take the Unichip to get custom dyno-tuned for all my mods at a reputable Unichip tuner in Maryland. I wish I lived closer to JDMSam's shop.

I have a P&P IM sitting on my work bench because I keep hearing that they don't play nice, but no one can tell my why...

I am dying to get a PnPd intake mani with the VTCS removed. I want to smooth things out without a huge gain.

I could be persuaded to sell, as I don't think I'm up to the risk up tearing apart car just to find there are problems with something that could potentially harm the car.......I love my car...and I kinda need it too...

PM me the details on the mani please.

In the process of lowering my car. Installed both rear in 6hrs today because im a noob and i kept on F'ing up. But i should finish the front, which will be quicker because i know what to do now, by this weekend. The rear looks great. Perfect drop. Im having a fellow member install my f&r mm insert tommorow. Cant wait. :)

Im really hoping i can make it to Mazfest08.

i got fd rims now =) no curb rash only thing wrong with them is one of the center caps had paint chipped off of them. **** buying big expensive wheels that im gonna be pissed about if they get curbed lol

I think it's something about not knowing how the Unichip will react to the VTCS not actually kicking in. The solenoid is hooked up so the Unichip thinks the VTCS is kicking in when it's supposed to. So what the Unichip decides to do when the VTCS is supposed to close/open and cause the lean/rich conditions and it actually doesn't is the mystery, I think. I guess that's why people tend to wait on installing their Unichips until they get to the dyno-tuning session if they have a P&P'd intake manifold with VTCS removed.

Then again, my stock ECU seems to be handling the absence of the VTCS just fine. I don't know why the Unichip (which is a piggy back) would have a problem with it. Just to be on the safe side, I'm holding off on installing the Unichip until I'm done with all of my engine mods. Dyno time is expensive and I don't want to have to go back very often.

I think the stock ECU handles it alright because we are running rich as s*** to begin with and when there is no VTCS to get in the way more are comes through for the same reading on the MAF thus you get leaner conditions in the cylinder. When you add on the unichip it re-adjusts the afr's to something more realistic but since there is no compensation for the added air coming from the VTCS-less IM it could lean out....and pop...

I guess thats why, makes sense. I guess you can re-tune the unichip to compensate for it...

Or go with the SSAFCv3 straight away, tune it yourself.... and for goodness sakes, if you're mucking about with afr, put in a wideband for the monitoring capacity.

Changed the thermostat on my car due to it overheating. Sure enough, the t-stat was the culprit. The old T-stat was sticking closed so once I replaced the old with the new, she's running proper again.

I finally got around to painting the center console, now I just need to paint the door trim! The gauges are in there just for show until I get them hooked up. Check out the new cockpit! : )

^^^ Looks good! I'll be painting mine satin black when I get around to it. I've painted every other trim piece satin black but I've just been too lazy/scared to take off and paint the radio surround.
