1. Rear engine motor mount
2. Intake - CAI or SRI
3. Shifter bushings with short throw shifter
These three (3) mods will be a great start.
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new ride!

Simmer down a bit
I went wider wheels, Cobb Intake, and then Forge BPV.. Great Autocross car, Next step is Hotchkis Sways and probably Mazdaspeed Coilovers.

I would also suggest a racepipe since it dont cost much and is easy to install and gives about 10-20hp..
Welcome to the forums...
hey wassup im new to this forums and i just bought a new mazda speed 3 i was told the first thing i should invest in is an engine mount any other suggestions!?!?!?!? thanks for all the help!!!
I'm not much of a car techie and haven't read a good explanation of what they'll do for the car in the form of performance, safety, gas mileage or longevity. I'm 55 and drive fairly conservative but of course I do love the power of this car.
You're in luck. All new Mazdaspeed3s come with Bluetooth compatibility, so you can simultaneously hook it up with your Life Alert while keeping an eye on your HBMS (heart beat monitoring system). The problem is you'll get a flashing light on the dash and occasional beeping if you swap with an incompatible pacemaker.
p.s. just kidding
p.p.s. gramps
Can you please speak up, I'm a little hard of hearing !
Also just kidding.
Kidding aside, is there an area in the forum to explain the barrage of add ons and what their pros/cons are and cost.
Thanks
rods/pistons, bigger turbo, fuelpump and TBe

that about sums it up right there. If you are going to do anything, just the 3 things above will be good enough and you dont need much else at all!
OH YEAH, don't forget a better bpv/bov as the stocker is leaky leaky!
Sounds good, but I don't have the slightest idea what a bpv or bov is.
it's the thing under the hood that makes the whoosh sound, its just to the right iof the plastic intercooler cover on the side of the motor. It's prone to leaking under boost and would cause the car to run poorly, lose mpg, and loss of performance. Best thing to do is replace it with a better unit. Not only will a new unit sound much nicer but make the car run better as well.
Lots of threads out there on this, other people will agree that is also a good mod to do as well
