on the drivers side near the headlight its a little loose I can push up on the bumper and close the gap. I took off the wheel well splash guard, but I couldn't figure out what in there would tighten it up there is a bunch of plastic with screws in it that are unaccessible with the bumper cover still in place. I really don't want to deal with the stealership if I don't have to so does anyone know how to tighten this up?

this it what it looks like

Oddly, I had the same thing. The bolts were loose and simply tightening them does the trick... they are a pain in the ass to get to though and the dealer will do it for free under your bumper-to-bumper

did the dealer have to remove the entire cover

mine sticks out a bit, i will have my dealer check it out next oil change, but i think its from parkin and rubbing the bumps, then backing out

I did it myself. I already had the cover off when I did it. I can't imagine doing it without taking the cover off. It definitely isn't worth the investment in time if you're just working on that.. Take it to the dealer if possible.

I set up an appointment for tomorrow. I really hate the idea of waiting around for those assholes to screw it up for me when I could do it myself

I have the same thing too. I thought it was from the bra(mazdaspeed) which i did have on for a while because it was really a tight fit and thought maybe it pulled the bumper out a little just under my driver side headlight

oh and the dealer said they couldn't fix it because the car is a little more than a year old and they don't have a "bodyshop" to do it..like you really need a bodyshop for a little bumber alignment. such BS

well my car is only 3 weeks old so they better repair it. I'm just afraid they will screw things up worse or atleast forget some hardware when putting it back together

+1 DO NOT TAKE IT TO A DEALER.

everytime i've ever taken my car somewhere to get work on, it comes back with some kind of chip/scratch, dent... whatever. do it yourself if you're worried about it.

fwiw, mine is a little off like that too since i took my bumper off to install my intake. what bothers me is that it wasn't even necessary to take the bumper off AND i didn't even get it all the way off. complete waste of time.
