Ms3 Rx-8 wheels

This may be a dumb question but; As a first time Mazda owner with TPMS. I have one question. My friend is willing to give me his Rx-8 wheels/rims with the TPMS. Would his rx-8 wheels with TPMS work on my MS3.

Yes, the RX-8 TPMS works perfect with my MS3. Or at least I think it does, I haven't gotten any warning lights, so I assume it would tell me if the signal was missing .

yeah cant go wrong an inch wider than ourstock rims and 2 pounds lighter plus i think they look a whole helluva lot better. I'm def gonna be picking up a pair of these with some 235/40's next spring sometime and turn my stockers into my winter setup. I've already got a nice set of 225/40/18 Pirelli SnowSports sitting in my backyard for the snow.

235 might rub as the wheel is wider. Im running 225 and its a perfect fit for the 8 incher. I know its hard to tell from the crappy pic but the 225 is actually pretty flush wth both the wheel and the fender

hey shag, did you roll your fenders at all? i want to drop my coils lower but the fronts directly above the tire seems so close, and its not quite as low as yours. i want it slaaaammed

I believe it's 22.

They are actually upwards of closer to 24-25lbs, at least the shinka rx8 wheels that I've had, borrowed from the boyfriend.. They are quite heavy. Had no issue with rubbing with a lot of weight in the car either, fit great!

TPMS on my RX-8 rims worked fine..I wear Potenza S0-2 225/45-18's with, obviously, no rubbing, stock height.

Do you have to do anything to get TPMS working or just bolt on & go?

The user manual has steps for 'new' tires to re-sync the sensors and car. It starts on page 5-31 of my manual. But since I am such a nice guy, I'll copy it here:

1. After tires have changed, turn ignition to the ON position than turn it back to ACC or LOCK
2. Wait about 15 minutes
3. After about 15 minutes, drive the car at a speed of at least 16 mph for 10 minutes and the TPMS ID will be registered

yeah my rx8s came with the TPMS and i thought i would need to do something to sync them after the install of the wheels/tires....i was pleased to see it did it all by itself...i love my car
