weighted shift knob on stock shifter?

The knob looks very nice. Did you have to do any modifing to it, or did it just screw right on????

Right now in my brother's car, he's using a Mazdaspeed knob made for the RX8 and it fit perfectly, and is noticibly heavier than the stock knob. It say nothing fancy, just Mazdaspeed, but it a black kind of teflon material, so it won't fade or get dirty etc. plus it matches the interior nicely.

well if I eventually go with a short shifter, will that knob be heavy enough to to make an improvment in shifting with the SS. I like the way that looks though. It's clean

yup, I am looking for a picture of what the shift knob looks like installed in the car.
I am looking for other shift knobs on the protege 5 so I can see which one I would want to put in my car. Thanks for getting a picture.

heres my stock leather non weighted shift knob thats leather.
sorry its not installed onto the actual shifter
i just dont want to take off my current knob cause its ligned up with perfectly and dont want to do it again with the hassle of my shift boot moving around and twistin all funky.
This knob looks very similar to how it is installed on wiprotege5's leather knob

I changed my stock '03 P5 shift knob for an '04 Mazda3 version today. Shift feel and preciseness have improved due to the extra weight and looks have improved also.
