LOL. It was a competition solar car, which is no surprise since we ran the event at Rochester Institute of Technology. That thing had surprisingly quick acceleration.

That looks like a miserable event. Check out the trees- they are getting blown pretty badly. Add in the rain.... that's one of those events that seperate the hardcore guys from the pussyfoots.

The rain is fine. Rain + wind = misery. It was probably cold too. If they are double coning cones, then it is VERY windy. I autox'd in Kansas for years and rarely had to double cone cones.

It wasn't that cold - high in low 50s Sadly enough, by the time we were done running, you could see a dry line or dry spots on course.
And yes, we double stacked the cones so the wind wouldn't move them over (we've had that happen before). They still count only 2 seconds.

I'll gladly concede that we had no car damage as a result of ours though, only damage to tents.

the bumper was fine for the autox, our lot is pretty smooth and the suspension is stiff. driving into most parking lots is a different story as i smoked the bumper the day after i brought the car home. lucky for me the bumper only has a scuff at the bottom corner, the quarter panel got bent pretty good though. some clamps and bolts made it look almost as good as new though.
