so i just installed my hks in recirculation and after driving around for a while i noticed an occasional back fire... mainly in lower gears (1,2) .. but its weird cuz its almost like i have to try to get it to do it... when i just get on it and shift through the gears it doesnt seem to do it... only at certain boost i guess...
i had to extend my recirc hose just a little bit (maybe 6 inches) would that have anything to do with it.. i checked the hoses, no kinks i can see,
could it possibly be that my computer needs time to adjust
ANY HELP?

strange, I have the bolt on HKS piece and didn't have any. Did you check for leaks anywhere else?

yea i bought the whole kit.. and yea i couldnt find any leaks...
could anyone possibly take a few pictures of their setup.. when i tried to swivel the piece to make it like the stock location the hood wouldnt close cuz of the vaccum piece... so i ended up making both of em close to 180 and just extending some felxi hose around my intake..

why not show us a pic of yours?

other mods, injen intake and modified stock exhaust(racing cat with straight pipe).. i would post pictures but i dont really have a working camera
see heres the thing... i hear this can void your warranty and i was gonna do it exactly how you have it^ but...i would have to cut some off of the stock recirc. tube.. and that would make it harder to switch from hks to stock.. so what i did was i got felxi tube with the metal spring and bent it around the intake(lookin at your picture to the right and under with a elbow attatchment to connect the two.) if that makes since... sorry im poor haha.. but shucky it looks like you didnt even cut the stock tube?
- i tried to run it like you but the stock one kinked.....and also the injen intake runs a little different than the mazda... mine looks like it comes out wfor a wider turn

hmmm... I did cut my recirc hose, if you look right after the bend you'll see 2 hose clamps. I had to extend it by about 1/4 inch done with a piece of copper from Home Depot. If I have to return to stock, I just push the hose back together and remove the clamps. Doubt dealer would even notice.

yea.. well i think im just gonna take it to the guy i got it from and tlel him to install it.. one thing i noticed is if you point the valve down as if you were going to install it exactly like stock.. everything works perfect except the hood not closing cuz of the vaccum insert... i thought about cutting some of that small metal piece off cuz u dont really need all that much.. and the hood actually closes but it barely hits it... so i dunno.. cuz with my damn injen intake i can see i dont have near as much room as you do

ok so for me most likely i am leaking somewhere...my backfiring is most likely caused by to much fuel right? so the only thing i can think of is im leaking somewhere which isnt hard to believe the way i ran it..
