Removal and installation of pulleys

:
2014 Mazda 3 i Grand Touring
Have the 4pc. Medieval pulley set and would like to install soon. What kind of pulley puller have you guys used? There are several on ebay of different types, but not sure which one will work best. Any of you provide a link or photo of what you've used or recommend?

Below are a few different types and not sure which one works better.

Just go to your local Autozone and rent the tool(s). Unless you intend to own the tool and will be pulling gears/hubs/steering wheels/harmonic balancers.

Just my opinion.

+1 on the autozone. You pay full price for the tool but you can take it back after you are done. Not quite "renting" but that is how they do it. Even better because in the end it does not cost you anything to use it. Which pulleys are going to need to be pressed on?

Are you talking renting the tool or purchasing it new and then returning if after you finish because "something is wrong with it" excuse? I'm uncomfortable with the second, but renting.....which tool?

I'd prefer to purchase the tool because they're cheap enough and would like to have them for the future, so please advise which type I should purchase.

To me, 3 & 4 should do it but for pulleys it's overkill - they should just slip off once the respective fasteners are removed.

No not "buy and return", but outright loan/rent the tool.

As Maxx Mentioned above, only the P/S needs a puller. As is the comment in this How-To thread: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123688989

It is recommended that you take the PS pump to a shop and have them take the old pulley off and press the new one on for you.

I used a 2 jaw puller to get the pulley off without disconnecting the fluid lines by taking it off of it's bracket & turning it where it faced up. Had to move the res out of the way. Then put it back in bracket & used antiseize on the shaft & new pulley while using 3 different length bolts with thick washer to pull the new one back on the pump until flush like oem was. No hassle, no issues, no fluid mess, no priming pump & such.

Autozone calls it "renting" but you actually pay full price for the tool then return it. It is part of the deal and is not the same as the "walmart weekend xbox" loaner program.
