Can you help identify this little black box???

Hey all. I just bought a new 2007 Mazda 6 V6, 5-speed, last week. I absolutely love this car!!!

Anyways, I was hard-wiring my radar detector last night and while I was in the fuse box area, I noticed a few wires coming out of the fuse panel were tapped into. I followed the wires to a small black box about 3"x3" and has a blue round dial in it that can be adjusted to a minimum and maximum. I have no idea what this is. Can someone help me? (dunno)

Not that I know of. I have the stock key fob with the integrated key that flips out. I was wondering if it was the factory alarm shock sensor add-on that I've seen several places.
