Just curious, does anyone know if there is a way to activate the anti-theft system (on GT's) for the Sport MS3's like the info button cheat? Just a thought....(peep)
Do you have any sound theories whether or not the Sport would have the same circuitry (just deactivated) to support the security system?
If it's in the ECU, it is a nice theory (I'm sure they share the same ECU programing). However, I believe that it's a separate component, so Mazda was able to leave it out of the Sport models.
The one difference I know is the GT has a switch to detect if the hood is unlatched. The sport does not have the switch, but the wiring is in the harness.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. I dont think it would have been cost effective for Mazda to have 2 different programs flashed onto ECUs for certain trim levels, GT's and Sports. If the only difference are sensors and switches, I wonder how hard it'd be to install the factory anti-theft if there was a way to activate it....
