For those that bought an '07 MS3 as the '08s were arriving...

... what did you pay before TTL? When during the year did you make the purchase? Reason I ask is that I'll be soon in the market for an MS3 and was wondering if it's worth it to me to wait until the '09 Mazdas are arriving so the dealer may work on the price more to get the '08s off the lots. I'm looking at a Sport, but if I get a good deal on a GT, I may jump on it. Thanks.

I bought an 08 model in South Fl in February 08. There were no real "hook ups" on the speed 3s. You could negotiate a couple of hundred dollars off. There were quite a few at the dealers down here but they were moving pretty regularly when not much else was.

Ed.

I just bought an 08 and there was only about $1,000 in movement not including my S plan and trade in. If ur looking for a deal, try to get an S plan pin from a family member or something, some people have the plan and don't know it applies to them.

sadly the speed3 is limited production car, dealer doesn't come down much. I was lucky I got 2k off sticker, but I also was firmly in the driver seat since I really didn't need a car at the time. If you walk out enough times they will come down some.

09's arent coming out, if u have a nice down pyment u could def get a hook up on the price.

If you read my post again, I said '09 Mazdas. I'm aware that the '08.5 is the last MY for the MS3.

I have about $8k on a paid-off trade-in, plus I can throw another two grand in. Not looking to finance more than $14k if possible.

I wish I did. I used to work for an insurance company that partnered with Ford, so I used to have an S-plan pin. But that was years ago, and no one in my family works for a Ford company.

Perhaps I'm not making myself clear enough. I'm looking to hear from '07 MS3 owners who bought their cars new and when the dealerships were getting the '08s just to see if waiting a few extra months is worth it.

Are they replacing the 3?

I got my MSP new when the 3 came out, mine was $16.5k out the door :)

It really depends on where you live, and the demand. If the dealer has a lot of extra MS3's on the lot come '09, guarans they'll be trying to get them off the lot. But then you gotta figure that other people may be doing the same thing, and depending on how many the dealer has, and how long you wait, you may not get one. I bought my '07 just as '08's were coming out. They had 2 left. The dealer tried to tell me how '07 was the last production year and wanted 30k for the car, lol.

That's what I'm thinking. There are about half a dozen Mazda dealerships within an hour of me, so I have some choices. But each dealership only has maybe 2-3 on the lot. I assume all of the '08.5s have made their way to the lots already, and none are still on the boats?

I ordered mine and it has not been built yet. The last boat to come over with 2008.5's MS3's will be around june-july. When I get my car :-)

What the **** was that useless post for. I was trying to be helpful.

lawl. While I appreciate the effort, I did request...

... because I want to know about this car, this year specifically. The MS3 is in much higher demand than the MSP was at the time, so there's really not a parallel.

Good to hear. I'll take my time putting my car back to stock then without having to worry about missing the boat.

I ended up paying about 300 over invoice for my 2008 Speed3 GT in October 2007. I can't remember how much it was, but the final check I wrote to the dealer was just over 26k. Keep in mind I live in a relatively rich area, and prices elsewhere are probably cheaper. But you'll hit alot of resistance trying to haggle a whole lot lower than MSRP. Anyway there you are.

If anyone lives in the Silicon Valley, CA, Hayward Mazda is letting MS3's go at invoice, pretty much pick anything on the lot.

I'm really tempted.
